I'm kinda new to the glock world. Just purchased a Glock 19. I've owned a couple of other Glocks in the past but before i had my CCW. Wanting to know what type of holster you guys carry your glock in. Both for CCW and range purposes? I just bought a Galco yaqui paddle for it , but will be taking it back tomorrow. Way to much tilting on my belt.

i carry a fobus paddle holster everyday and i've been wearing it for 3 years with no problems. They cheap ( under $30 ), light and comfortable to carry all day. They conceal easily with an untucked shirt. Easy to remove if need be. But my reason for the holster may not fit your needs. You need to see what your carry needs are and go from there.

Here is a list of several holsters work well for me and my G19:

for IWB:
www.sidearmor.net IWB
www.miltsparks.com Executive Companion
www.rmholsters.com Low Rider

for OWB:
www.rmholsters.com ECP.  You may wish to go with the standard paddle as the ECP has a 20 degree cant.  The nice thing about the RM ECP or the standard paddle is it fits very close to the body.  It is one the best OWBs I've ever tried.

I'm saving my pennies for a www.wellsmade.com.

I have two holsters for my Glock 19.  One is a Fobus roto, for range/plinking use.  It works great and, while not a kydex holster, suit my purpose just fine.  CCW is another story.  I use a Milt Sparks VMII.  I like it because it spreads the attachment points out a bit, and carries the weight of the rig on more of the belt.  Feels less "bulky" to me than others.  YMMV, IANAL, IMHO, etc.

I had the same holster question when I bought my G19... so basically i found a gunshop where the guy behind the counter let me try them ALL on... it depends on your body type, how you dress, and stuff like that... so I suggest you do the same as I did.  Find a gun shop where the guy (or gal) will let you try them on.

I found that a pancake style holster for ccw worked best for me with a forward tilt (rode higher for easier ccw),

but I have a Galco kydex holster for range use...

I also have a kydex IWB holster that is useable, but I dont like it much.

You will probably end up with several different types of holsters for different types of clothes...

dont be afraid to drop a few $ on a good holster... you wont regret it when you have to wear the thing 16 hours a day.  Not to mention the peace of mind for knowing your rig isnt printing or showing in your day-to-day clothes.

I've been using the Comp-Tac C-T.A.C. for the past 6 months and I love it!  I'm a small guy and I can carry my G19 in either the 3 o'clock or 4:30 position with nothing more than a t-shirt on.

If it isn't too late to pitch in...

I recently purchased a Kramer inside the waistband holster. Supposedly it was designed specifically for the G19. I love it for concealed carry. I also have a Fobus and a Galco, which I now consider uncomfortable, and are both much worse at concealing the Glock on my tall skinny frame.

They are kinda pricey, but I think it was worth the cost. I can now wear just a t-shirt and have it concealed nicely, which I couldn't do with those other two holsters. They are probably better for range work, but for concealed carry, the Kramer IWB #3 is comfy and works well for me. The one big drawback (other than price, it's over $100 for the horse hide version) is that your pants have to be a little on the loose side, or else it won't fit inside the waist band.

Also, you probably already know this, but make sure you have a good quality belt for it.

If you're interested, go to Gun Holsters, then IWB #3.

Been using a Bladetech kydex holster for a few months, and it's pretty decent. Avoid their double mag pouch - it prints way too much.  I use a sheath that fits my Leatherman tool (Supertool 200), and it holds one mag just fine, and has a flap cover. Ordered them from Leatherman's website for like $12ish.

Those mag/tool pouches blend in a whole lot better than the Kydex double mag pouch.

I, too, carry in a CTAC from Comp-Tac for IWB. If I am on the range or around the house, I like to carry OWB with a locking paddle also from Comp-Tac.

I have carried in their holsters for a little over four years. With the humidity and heat in Houston, carrying in leather is like wrapping your firearm in a wet towel, so Kydex is the way to go.

No offense, and I'm not picking on you, but why do people use seperate holsters for the range?

When I go to the range, I use the holster I carry in everyday. The one I will be drawing from if I am ever forced to draw in self defense. It only makes sense.

I just ordered a Texas Gunleather IWB. It boiled down to the Sidearmor, the UCR, and the TG as what it seems people are the most comfortable with. The thing that made up my mind is that there is a guaranteed wait for both the sidearmor and the ucr of 3-6 weeks. Hopefully the TG will not take that long. I have a G23.

No offense taken - I should have been clearer.  When I am practicing with my G19 (my primary concealment gun), it is in one of the holsters I use for CCW.  When I am at the range shooting other guns and the G19 is being carried "just in case" * (see below), it is just more convenient/comfortable to carry it on my belt in a factory holster.  I don't know about any of the others, but that's what I meant.

* Have you ever seen Silverado?   (One of my favorite westerns, BTW )  There is a scene where Emmett (Scott Glenn's character) is out practicing for the impending gunfight.  He shoots until he's emptied every gun he has, THEN the bad guys come out of hiding & jump him.  That scene has stuck with me since I first saw it years ago.  Even though my range is within shouting distance of my house, I don't go shooting at the range without a dedicated gun that is there "just in case" and which will not be shot during the range session.  That is the aforementioned G19 unless it is to be shot, in which case something else "pinch hits."

I guess a shorter answer could have been:  I carry openly at the range, concealed elsewhere - different tools for different applications.  My concealment holsters work fine for what they are, but none would be my first choice if I carried openly.

I hope that all makes sense...

I agree with one of the previous posters about Miltspark for CCW. For other situations I have a Blackhawk Industries CQD holster. It comes with belt loop and paddle so you can choose which you like better. Good deal for $40. Made of platic/carbon fiber.

Threatsolutions UCR is by far my fav rig for CCW my G19.
It may look like crap but it conceals very well and is real comfy for extended periods. Plus since it's Kydex, I can sweat all over it in the Louisiana heat and it wont degrade.
