i bought a used glock 17 for 350.00 it was built in 2003 its looks brand new but my problem is it shoots very low at 20 to 25 yards the slide doesnt seen right to my other glocks the mag seems to stick down farther out of the mag well i think the frame rails need tightening ..... is there a way to tighten the frame rails to bring the point of impact higher

Um... no. Most likely culprit is the sights. If you think it is something else, contact Glock.

How does it shoot at 7 yards; 10 and 15? Have you let someone else shoot it?

Where did you ever hear of tightening the frame rails?

This is something you do to a 1911 or other metal frame pistols to close the tolerances between the frame to slide fit.  This is something you should not even try to do on your Glock.  It has slim to very little if any affect on accuracy.  It really just helps the pistols cycle cleaner.  I repeat this should not be done on a Glock.

Maybe you need to learn to shoot?

No such thing as tightening frame rails on a Glock..................that's 1911 territory.

Does the gun run well?  If so, I doubt you have anything to worry about.

If in doubt, as stated above, contact Glock.  You can send it to them, and they'll check it out completely for ya, and probably replace worn internal parts while they're at it.

Gotcha, I'm a Glock guy, not very knowledgeable on 1911's.

Ok... not to insult but take your pistol to a professional so he can shoot it in front of you. You are a novice and that is the best place to start. Those sights are factory sighted in for 25 yards... so your sight picture is backwards. I have gotten to shoot quite a few glocks that people complained about accuracy issues... there was nothing wrong with any of the pistols it was just bad shooters habits. The mag sticks out of the G17 a little this also has a purpose.

Same as closing an eye can develope to be a bad habit... in a stress situation you WILL NOT close one eye.
