I took my new G19 RTF2 out to the range today and had some problems with it.  The first couple mags went through perfect and then I had a FTF.  I chalked it up to a fluke then it happened 3 or 4 more times with two different kinds of ammo and different mags.  On the last one I looked at the round in the gun and noticed it was trying to grab it by the inside of the base of the case.

Look at the extractor make sure it is not damaged.  Also do a detailed strip of the slide and check the extractor depressor and spring.  That would be where I would look first next make sure the feed ramp and chamber do not have a bur or is to tight.

That is where I would start to begin with.

What ammo brand? Probably an out of spec case.

It happened with Federal and PMC.

As far as reliability ( or lack thereof), is this gun BRAND new?  Are these the first rounds you've fired from it?

If so, give it a chance............break the thing in.  I'd say, if you're still having issues 200-300 rnds from now, there may be some sort of problem.

As far as the marks there on the web of the case, honestly that IS unusual, in my experience with 9mm glocks.  None of mine do that.  Only time I've seen marks like that is when I've been running 9mm (w/ conversion barrel) in my G23, with the .40 extractor in place.  Doesn't do it with the 9mm extractor installed, just with the .40 extractor.

I suppose it's not entirely outside the realm of possibility that it's got a .40 extractor in it, from the factory.  Highly unlikely, I admit, but that's what that mark looks like to me.................................

Yes this gun is brand new and I put the first 150 rounds through it today.  So it had four failure to feeds within the first 150rds all the exact same as I described.

That is very weird and very un-Glock like.

Did you clean or lube this gun before firing it? On the rounds that FTF, Did you try to use them again and if so, did they fire the second time? What do\did the primers look like on those rounds? I would take the silde apart and check the striker and spring, as well as the channel to make sure they all look OK and nothing is broken or clogging up the channel.

Yes I did lube it with a little Slip2000 and swapped out the connector with a LWD 3.5lb and changed the trigger spring.  I ruled out the mags by trying one of my G17 mags since they are good and used.

Lets see.  New gun.  Before ever fired, traded out fire control parts.  Then 4 failures to feed in 150 rounds if that is what a FTF is shorthanded for.

1)  My 9mms do not mark the brass like that.

2)  Put the Glock stock parts back in and try it again.

3)  If it continues to do the same thing, you have a problem.

4)  If it runs, you have a off brand small parts problem.

Good advice I'll try that just to rule it out.  I also have the same parts in my G17 and it runs perfect.

brand new gun= send it to glock and have them sort it out...

you will have plenty of time to take it all apart etc later on, it really needs to work correctly FIRST.

just my thoughts

I think I figured it out.  All of the failures to feed happened when my wife was shooting the gun.  When I shot it it did not happen.  I'm pretty sure she was limp wristing it.
