My girlfriend's step dad bought a 2nd gen G19. When it is assembled, the guide rod sticks out a little, but is properly in place with the slide/barrel/guide rod assembly separated from the frame. My guess is worn spring, so probably whole guide rod and spring assembly needs replaced.

| Yeah when the rod gets to this point it needs to be replaced. I usually keep a spare or two around from each of my Glocks just incase one breaks while at the range so I do not have to stop shooting. I also use some stainless ones in pistols not for carry but for special purpose. |
