I have been thinking of buying a complete M17-22-34 or -35, keeping the frame for a dedicated Advantage Arms .22LR kit, and selling the slide-barrel-sights-spring assembly.  Is there a better way?  Is there any market for a Glock top?

A member here and friend of mine did just as you've described with a 34. Sold the top end on Glocktalk and kept the frame for his AA kit.

I wanted a G21 frame explicitly for a build with a Mech-Tech carbine upper, so I shopped around for a well-used G21 with a decent frame but a beat-to-heck-and-back slide –– it took some looking, but I finally stumbled across one just like that and got a great lowball price on it because the slide looked so bad (although it shot just fine).

Of course, I didn't sell the ugly slide –– just kept it for parts, etc.  But I probably had less money in the whole gun than I would have if I'd bought new and sold the top end.

I bought a 21 frame for my AA kit. Brand new and cost half as much as a complete glock. So unless you are gonna make a good amount of money back from selling the slide I would not go through the hassle of having to sell it.

PLEASE let me know if you sell a 17 or 34 slide.  PLEASE!  I've been looking everywhere for an OEM Glock 17 or 34 slide.  I have a 17L and it's not IDPA legal.

In my case, I already had the 34 and was thinking of selling it and thought it would be nice to have a dedicated frame for my AA kit so I just sold the upper off of my 34. Luckly I had picked up the 34 for a really good price so buy the time I sold off the complete slide, the frame ended up being fairly cheap.

Maybe you can work out something with the poster above who's wanting a complete 17 or 34 slide? Find out what he's willing to pay and figure out how much the frame is worth to you and then you will know how much you can spend on a complete gun to make it worth it?

I will buy the 17 slide if you decide to go this route. Have been looking for a year with no luck.

I'd buy the 17 Frame (preferably if it's a Gen 3) and build a race gun, like the one a mamber has on his avatar. Now that gun's sexy.

But then again, I think you can still find one of those aluminum Glock 17 frames.

Look hard enough and you will be able to pick up a frame only. I got mine for $150 on GT.

I have a 34 slide with Magna-Ported barrel if interested.

Wanna trade it for a G17L slide?

there are a lot of people who are building CCF race frames who would love to have the slide/barrel assy.

I would probably hang onto it in case you decide to sell the pistol some day.
