I currently have a Glock 24c. I love the gun but I am going to start shooting IPSC with it but want to shoot Limited. I am looking for a non ported barrel for my G24c. What do you recomend? I am looking at a Lone Wolf. Also looking for holster advise as well. The G24 is a long gun. I have a Blackhawk Thigh rig that I bought and works really well but I got funny looks from the other shooters when I went to my first match last week.(Grey aria I guess) I shot my G17 but only shot minor in Limited. I want to score Major and in order to do that I have to go to my G24. Any of you shoot your G24 in IPSC and what loads are you using?

Just to clarify, do you want to shoot under true IPSC (international) rules, or under USPSA (US) rules ? There is a difference.
Under IPSC rules, the G24C can compete in Modified division if you trim a bit off the backstrap. It can also compete in Standard division if you trim a bit off the backstrap AND change to a non-ported barrel. The backstrap trimming is required for the gun to fit in the IPSC box. I'm pretty sure you actually mean that you want to shoot in USPSA matches, in which case ignore everything I said in the previous paragraph. Under USPSA rules, there is no overall size limit for Limited division, so indeed all you have to do is install a non-ported barrel. I have a Lone Wolf 9mm barrel in my G22 and it works great, so I think you would be safe with their barrel. As for the holster, you probably want a "race" holster that is open at the front, as hauling that long barrel out of the standard carry holster will be slooooow. I think the ResComp holster can be adjusted to fit, so thats where I suggest you start. |
