Hello everyone in G World!

I was wondering if anyone had some insight about concealing a Glock 19, on a daily basis. I am wondering if concealing a gun this size is practical for daily carry (year around)? If so... what kind of IWB holster applications works best for people who carry from day to day?

My biggest concern is the "print" in the clothes. I also really don't want to "dress" around the gun.

I usually wear cargo shorts and t-shirts durring the summer, with sandals. Winter time I wear jeans, boots and usually t-shirts unless it is really cold then I will put on a jacket (Texas weather) . Any help will be great!

Thanks
J

I carry several different pistols I on occasion carry my G32 (same size/dimensions as your G19) in a Galco IWB holster.  I am skinny so carrying on my backside I print really bad but if i carry it up front at 2 to 3 oclock you could never tell.  Normally my summer pistol is a G27 w/ 357Sig barrel and my winter pistol is a G30SF because it prints no matter where I put it on me in my summer cloths.

But as long as you wear your shirt untucked you should be fine concealing a G19 if it is that much of a concern make your G19 winter pistol and get a G26 never hurts to have an assortment of Glocks... Girls accessorize with purses we accessorize with handguns.

I run mine year round in a Comp-Tac MTAC. That ranges from shorts and t-shirts to jeans and heavy outer wear. (I do wear an under shirt year round also). I wear the MTAC at the 3:00 position. I am a fairly bigger guy (6'4'' 250lbs) but I dont find it difficult to hide the gun at all (I also carry a spare G19 mag on the support side). On the holster, the MTAC is the most comfortable holster I have ever used. Once i found the sweet spot, its hardly noticable. Also dont forget a good belt. Thats the part most people forget. If you want to carry comfortably and discretely, a belt is a big part of the equation. YMMV

Your new to carrying aren't you? The more nervous you are about having a gun, the more likely someone is to notice: act naturally.

I personally carry a G19 around the clock, in a crossbreed supertuck holster. (Strong side IWB style holster), the only time I don't carry is if I am at work, and that is only because I am not permitted by law to carry where I work.

As long as your not wearing tight tshirts and they have enough of a tail on them that they don't ride up everytime you move your arms you shouldn't run into any issues.

I have tried various other types of holsters and for me this seems to be the best combination of concealment and accessibility I have found. You can spend all day infront of a mirror worrying about printing, but the truth is, most people are not that observant.

Comp-tac MTAC or CTAC will work well for you. IMO, you must dress around the gun, at least to a certain extent.

hmmm, the mtac/ctac look allot like the crossbreed... basically sticking with that style of holster and you can't go wrong.

I also carry a glock 19.  I carry it in an MTAC.  I absolutely LOVE the MTAC holster.  It is amazingly comfortable and concealable.

I have a Crossbreed Supertuck on the way...I just wanted to try it out for comparisons sake.  Hopefully I'm about to order a Milt Sparks VMII as well.

My MTAC works great, but I want to try all three of these, as these are generally the top three recommended holsters on the internets for this type of carry.

I also carry a Glock 26 in the MTAC occasionally.  The glock 19 works great for carry in the MTAC...sometimes the glock 26 is a nice break if you REALLY don't feel like carrying that day and want a bit less weight.  It is slightly more comfortable if you plan to spend all day sitting or in the car.  At least for me...I carry at about 3:30 by the way.

I love the Glock 19.  It is without a doubt my favorite firearm.  I have two, and am thinking about picking up a third.  If I could only have one gun, it would be the glock 19.  If I could only have two, it would be two glock 19s.  My third gun would be the glock 26.

eta:  Don't forget a good gun belt.  A good gun belt is critical.  I personally have had excellent results with the Comp-tac belt.  It doesn't look like a gun belt and it looks nice either in jeans or in dress slacks.  Using a good gun-belt made a world of difference for IWB carry for me.

Wrong approach depending on how your clothes fit. What you listed is fine if the shirts are the right size, you might need to buy the next size shirts? I'm 5'7" and wear a large T-shirt(sometimes XL) and some of them are too long so I have them shortened to the proper length(MIL is a Suzie-Homemaker) so that I can carry a 23 or 27. Don't compromise what you carry, BUGS are BUGS, dress around the 19 if you have to. ComTac, Supertuck, TS UCR, etc.

I carry my G26 on a clip grip. (pseudo Mexican style) I could carry my G19 the same way but the 26 is much more comfortable for me.

I hate IWB holsters for my body type 5'10" 180 so sometimes I'll wear outside the waist holster.

printing is not the issue, no body notices. and as long as your legal you'll have no legal concerns, make an attempt at covering your weapon and relax.

I have been carrying my gun off duty (LEO) for 6 years and I don't wear a badge on my belt.

nobody has said boo to me if they have noticed. but mostly I don't think they can get outside their self absorbed worlds to really look at me.

I carry a G19 in a MIlt Sparks VM2 with MS belt. Of course my P7M8 in a VM2 has spoiled me. I carry Glocks IWB, but having carried both single stack and high cap pistols, I greatly prefer steel single stack handguns.

If you are not willing to dress around your gun, you should not be carrying concealed.
By dressing around your gun, the most basic thing is that you are going have to buy your pants and shirts a size bigger.

With that being said I live in sunny SoCal and I can easily conceal a G19 off-duty in an IWB holster year round with no problems, even wearing a tshirt and shorts.  If you are one of those guys that likes to wear fitted tees you are gonna need to go baggier.

+1

I forget I'm wearing it.

ETA - There are lots of holsters on the market and many of them require a multi-week lead time. Comp-Tac delivers FAST. They'll give you a 9 day wait, but it'll actually show up in 5-7. Under promise/over deliver, FTW.

I either use an MTAC or a Serpa depending if I have to tuck in my shirt or not. 99% of the time I am untucked so I go serpa because its more comfortable when sitting for 10+ hours a day like I do.

Sorry, but that's part of the responsibility of deciding to carry a "service pistol", i.e. carrying "enough gun".  Making minor wardrobe changes to accomodate and better conceal "enough gun" is a small price to pay to be well armed.

As far as concealing it, there are several well-made IWB holsters out there, with good reviews.  I personally like going OWB.  A leather 2 or 3-slot pancake style is the ticket for me........holds the pistol in nice and tight to your side, is very comfortable, and very concealable with the right shirt and/or vest.

I carry a G19 everytime I leave the house off duty.  I'm in central Texas.  I would say stick with a Kydex holster because you are going to sweat all over it.  I prefer products from comp-tac.  They are an amazing company with great products.  When my son was born I carried my 19 in my Comp-Tac Infidel holster for 72 hours strait.  I even slept while wearing it and it never bothered me.

I'm 6-00 and 180lbs.  I also don't wear big t-shirts.  I do print a little bit, but no one has ever noticed.  We had been hanging out with the neighbors for a few months and the wife knew I was a cop and she never realized I was always wearing a gun.

Find a good iwb holster and a good sturdy belt and you should be fine.  I prefer comp-tac holsters and wilderness tactical belts, but there are other good ones out there too.

+1.  won't get away with wearing just a wife beater or other skin tight metro sexual clothing.  i like wearing magellan (or if you're rich columbia) fishing shirts from academy for conceal carry.

the general public is a clue-less hoard of sheep. the average joe will never know you have a weapon and really wont be looking for people carrying weapons. the people that will notice which is about 4% of our population will be cops, military, or other ccw holders. just ask like it isnt there and eventually it will be second nature like carrying your wallet or cell phone.
