i'd like to hear some opinions on the Glock 30sf.  as far as accuracy, recoil, and reliability (i hear there was a trigger bar issue causing failures to return to battery-was this resolved?)

thanx guys

The G30 and G30 SF are surprisingly accurate, reliable, and soft shooting 45's. My personal favorite 45. Compared to other Glocks they seem fat but they are certainly comfortable in the hand and concealable. Compared to some other pistols, they don't seem so big. For example, the G30 is dimensionally smaller than a Sig 229 and fully loaded weighs just an ounce or so more than an empty Sig 229. Combine that with 10 rounds of 45 acp and you have a winner in my book.

Some G30 SFs (beginning around 2008) have had problems with failure to return to battery. According to Glock, only a small percentage of pistols are affected and the problem arises from tolerance stacking of trigger components and the rails. Glock has just released a new trigger bar which corrects this which is available to Armorers only but I imagine it will soon be sold by Glock parts retailers.

I'm not certain if and when new production pistols will have the new trigger bar but I do know they aren't needed in all pistols. I would buy with confidence. I just ordered a second G30 SF and it should be arriving any day.

I love my G30SF only complaint for me is that I am skinny and it prints really bad in my summer cloths so it became my winter handgun and my G27 w/357Sig barrel is my summer/running handgun.

Accuracy is great, grip with the factory ext mag is great, and over all feel is great.

I would say get one you will love it.

no,......it's NOT been resolved....it's STILL an issue with the G30sf
The "new" trigger bar, the 4256-1 has created one more problem.

Maybe he should have read my post. It pretty much sums it up and it would spare anyone a headache from reading that entire thread over at the play pen.

I understood the new trigger bar P/N to be 4256-1-  (emphasis on the - after the 1)

What is the problem the new trigger bar is creating?

The length of the trigger bar was extended, but, the hump that contacts the firing pin safety
was raised. It is NOW rubbing on the slide.

I've heard no feedback on the -1- trigger bar
