I love my glocks, but I am really not impressed with the sights on my G19 or G26 - A fat white dot up front, which feels about like signing a check with a fat crayola crayon.  Any recommendations for sight upgrades?  Something I can do myself if I beg/borrow or buy the tool(s)?

Trijicons or Heinie
Very easy to install on Glocks
soft jaws on a vise, punch and hammer

LOVE my TFO's. I too effing hate the stock Glock sights. They are horrible. Of course I learned on 3 dot night sights, so when I tried the stockers I wasn't impresses one bit.

I have heinie straight 8's on mine. I bought a Meprolight USIT to install them. Found out too when I went to install that it must be lubed or the tool will seize. Those Heinies are tight!!

I put Meps on my HK and another Glock and they are much brighter than the Heinies though and cheaper so I think it may be them from now on. They definately don't seem to be as beefy looking or nicely finished as the Heinies though.

I replace the front sight with a Mep and the rear sight with a plain steel on my user glocks.

I have Ameriglo Operators* on my glocks.

Green front with a white outline (.125 width) and Yellow rear with no outline (.150 notch).  Use the "grady" coupon code for 25% off if you order from Ameriglo.  They use Trijicon Vials with 12 year warranties.

Here is a pic on an M&P (not my gun).  These look like Green/Green.

* = Though my sights are cool I am not an operator.

Anything is better than the cheap chunks of plastic that Glock puts on their "perfect" pistols.

That's the one place where Gaston really screwed the pooch on his brilliant design, IMHO.

Aside from being plastic I really like the "U" rear sight, I appear to be the one of few that does.

I shoot real well with the stock sights myself but the rear sight stands out so much I find it hard to concentrate solely on the front.

I really like the Truglo TFOs with green front and yellow rear.  They seem brighter in the dark than my old Trijicons, and they are are much easier to pick up during the day.  I especially like having different colors on the front and rear sights.

I just put a set of Trijicon, non trijicon, steel sighs on a G17.  They replaced the worn down cheap plastic front and banged up rear.

These trijicon sights are not night sights, just solid steel with white dots.

I'm a big fan of the Ameriglo "Operator" front tritium sights but I do not like or feel the need for Tritium in the rear sights so I use Ameriglo plain rear sights.

I use Novaks on my G19.  White dot front with plain black rear.  Simple and easy to pick up the front sight.
