I was looking at buying one.  Should I get the 20 or the 20C?  Is there much of a difference or is it more of a marketing thing?  Do they still make 20's or will every gun store only have the 20C?

Also does anyone carry one in a fanny pack?  I'm buying it for hiking and I like the fanny pack option since my pack makes a holster a little difficult.  Will most fanny packs carry that size gun?

640.00 is what Cabela's wants.  Is that a good price?

I have the G20 and love it. Wish I could find ammo or components so I could load some ammo. Never shot the 20C so I can't help you there.
I have a fanny pack for mine. Its a tight fit but it works. However, I find a Galco shoulder rig works better for me when I am outdoors.
As for the price I paid $600 for mine about a year ago.

The biggest difference is the G20 is easier to shoot at night by far and the G20C will blind you when the flash comes up straight in front of your face.  If recoils the reason you are looking at the compensated on consider a different recoil spring.  But the G20 is a good pistol as far as the fanny pack I have no clue when I go running I have a specialized holster for running that I conceal my G27 sorta like a fanny pack but no zipped up and not in a pouch where it will take time to get out.

If you want to travel to S.E. MN., you can try out my 20SF. Don't buy the compensator. Let me know.

The G20 (either regular or SF) just isn't the fire breathing monster that everyone makes it out to be.  The flex in the frame coupled with the action make for a surprisingly smooth shooting 10mm.  Get the G20 or G20SF and you'll absolutely love it!

+1 even shooting 200gr double tap full power stuff isn't really that bad, now... shooting 200gr DT out of my G29..... that's a little different

In truth, shooting my 'nuclear' loads out of my G20L is ................ well, almost disappointing (not really) because the expected arm twisting recoil just wasn't there.  It's tame enough for me to shoot upwards of 200 rds of fire breathing lightning in a single range visit without so much as a notice.  I can use those loads for my 200+ yd offhand steel shooting.  Talk about no drop from aimpoint!
Try that with a 44 Mag, 41 Mag, or even a .357 Mag revolver.

I have never shot the 20C but I have a regular 20 and love it as well. carry it every day. I have heard the C does not reduce the recoil all that much and like the above it flashes more than without if your worried about night fire and night vision. I would just go with the reg 20 or SF.  I paid 450 for mine and then installed night sites so I have 525 in mine. Great weapon I am looking for a 29 to take the place of my 21SF and I will be 10MM heavy!!

I have the G20 and It shoots well so I don't think the compensated model is necessary, at least not for me.  I also use it when I go hiking and carry it in and Blackhawk Serpa holster.  It will fit in the larger fanny packs but It is not a small gun.  I picked mine up a few weeks ago at a local gun shop in the lower 500's.  They said they ordered too many and I think they wanted to move them before the SF (short frame) model came out.  It fits my hand well so I see no reason the get the SF model, at least for me.

I have the G20 and G29 and love them both.  The G20 is SWEEET to shoot.  I think I paid 575 about a year ago...

If you are even entertaining the idea, you gotta make the move.  Like others have said....it's not that 'hot', and the versatility (as my son would say) is sick.  A wide range of loads that perform great for their designed purpose makes it suitable for quite a few different applications.

Glockmeister has them for $ 529 plus shipping.  Find a cheap FFL where your at and you'll be in business.

I have the 20C model and am sure it doesn't really reduce recoil, but more muzzle flip. It might help get back on target slightly faster, but I don't have a regular 20 to compare to.   I don't buy all the 'internet wisdon' about it being worse at night, or for HD/SD use, etc.   Just more nonsense being passed around.   Usually the statement goes 'Well I've never shot the compensated model and have no experience with it, but it'll blind you if you shoot it at night."   Same with the nonsense about not being able to shoot reloads in a Glock.  Anyway, I'll buy a replacement barrel if I find myself up all night worrying about going blind from shooting reloads at night in a self defense situation.

I have a regular 20, 2nd Gen Frame.  It feels like a .45ACP even with really hot loads.  I do not recommend getting the 20C since you are just reducing velocity, and increasing flash and noise.

Get the 20 it handles things well and avoids the drama's associated with the "c" model. Flash, noise an maybe on occasion an object somehow making its way into the slide/barrel.
.
I'd pass on the fanny pack...jus take a holster...especially something like a serpa..quite light an quick. If you really NEED the 20 you dont wanna be hassling with a zipper...but thas jus my .5c worth

I am getting my 20 SF when the fun shop opens this morning, $540 plus tax at one of those locally owned, over priced gun stores.

my wife said "hell yes ... it'll save me money in the long run "
