Hey there, folks. I am the proud, but somewhat unhappy, owner of a G19. I haven't gotten out to the range yet, but it fits my hand well.
The thing is this: I got the factory night sights model, with Trijicons, and only the rear sight dots glow at all. I can't tell if the front sight tube is damaged or installed incorrectly or what. I'm going to call Glock in a bit, and I'll post up what their response is. I would just take it back to the shop where I got it, but that's 100 miles away in the opposite direction I'm headed today. Anybody ever have a similar issue? |
| It can happen if the tritium glass vial get cracked... all the gas leaks out. Assuming its the factory sights (not something installed by the gunshop), call Glock and they will fix it. You can send them the slide directly, they replace the sight, and they send it directly back to you - no FFL required. |
| happens sometimes - I have heard of this recently, too. previous post was correct - send slide to Glock, they will re-install for free. I fyou are not a certified Glock armorer, they (probably - you might get lucky, though) will not send you the replacement, even though it is easy as pie to install and would save LOTS of time in the mail - I would estimate at least 2 weeks from when you ship to when you get it back. Sucks, good luck. |

Well, I called Glock and they were indeed awesome to deal with. Apparently the front sight is held on with some goofy nut, they said that wold send send me a new sight if I could find somebody to install it. They also said that I could just send in the slide for repair.
I'm going to send it back to them next week. I just want to get it out and run it a little first, that way if there is anything else wrong it can all get fixed at once. |
