Does anybody here place their non-firing finger on the trigger guard while firing their Glock? I have never tried it, but I've seen plenty of pics to assume its a common practice. What are the pro's and cons of this?

I don't know why Glock puts texturing on the front of the trigger guard. I guess it's just for looks.

If you "wedge" you do.

No, I don't.

Methinks that around the time Gaston Glock designed the G17, this "finger of support hand on forward end of trigger guard" hold was still  widely practiced.  So this was designed into the gun, just more surface area to grip onto, I guess.

Even though the popularity of this type of grip has largely diminished, this was never changed, I'm guessing, because it is recognized as part of the "distinctness" of the silhouette of the Glock pistol.

Maybe that type of grip is still popular in Europe, though.

That part of the front of the triggerguard is fairly useless for those of us who use a solid two-hand hold that doesn't involve putting a finger on the front of the triggerguard.  Alot of folks round off the triggerguard because of this.

I personally do not, because that "corner" is part of the molding of holsters, a contact point if you will.  I like to keep the "shape" of the pistol intact, so that it'll always fit the holster tightly and correctly.  May not have that much effect if one DOES round off the triggerguard, but I have no reason to do it.
