Is $500 for a somewhat lightly used, very well maintained gen3 G19, with 3 15rnd magazines, and whatnot a good deal?
Friend of mine moved to Cali may sell me it. |
| it's illegal if it s in Cali, most likely...and that's the going price around here for a new one, but nobody has them in stock. It's decent, he'd probably get that selling it on a forum. Depends on what the additions are, how light the use is, and what exactly is meant by 'very well maintained.' Over cleaning a gun is often more dangerous than undercleaning it. |

He moved to Cali which is the reason hes getting rid of it. The gun is here in AZ. And 499 at Scottsdale gun club would be nice but I'm 19 and am reduced to buying private. I've been looking for a USPC but I figure you can't go wrong with a glock. |

I'm under 21, I can't buy from a dealer. 18-20 years old cannot buy from dealers, only private sales (as in buying from say your neighbor). And I also cannot buy pistol ammo Have to get friends to do that for me |

If he is willing to sell it to you , given your restrictions, its a good deal. |
| I'd say that, if it is in very good condition, lightly used, as you say, then it would be a very good deal, considering that you are getting a 3rd mag, and will not pay sales tax or background check. You'd be looking at around $600 to get a NIB example with an extra mag out the door at the gun store, if you were 21. I'd much prefer the Glock 19 over the HK you were looking for, and I'm not a Glock diehard, by any means. |

Seems kind of odd to say you can't buy from a dealer and you can't buy the ammo buy you can buy it from some guy off the street and that's OK. |

In most states you can own a pistol at 18, just cannot buy from a dealer until 21. Honestly for a used gun it's a bit on the high side, unless it has night sights. |

Because Federal law only covers dealers and some states aren't restrictive like Iowa (ranked 17 by the Brady Bunch). ME, NH, VT, ND, and MT all allow CCW at 18. Despite the situation in your home state, there are still some places in this country with some common sense. |
Have to get friends to do that for me
