I am a huge 1911 fan and I was trying to get info on H&K's new 1911 on the H&K section and a guy stated that he heard Glock was coming out with a 1911 version.  Now is this crazy talk or are there any Glock insiders on this board that can fill us in?

I've heard this rumor a few times over the past 2 years.  As far as I know it's exactly that -- a rumor.  I guess there is a chance that one day it will be truth, but I doubt it.  Glock seems to not want to come out with any other models of pistols otherwise it would defeat their marketing campaign of "Glock Perfection".  "Why come out with a new style pistol when you've already achieved perfection?" they would say.

Just the other day I was thinking it would be interesting if Glock made a 1911.

Why would anyone want to own a plastic 1911?

When the 1st rumors about the Glock 37 came out, word was it was going to be a full-size single stack .45ACP.  Then they came out with that abortion the .45GAP.

I was actually interested.  Im over it now.

Well it may not be a 1911 but Glock made a model with a 1911 saftey the "17S". It was made for the Tasmanian Police and I wish I could find a pic that used to float around.
