All,
My new G19 has what appears to be pressed in sites. It is SN KUVxxx and one of the recent ones with the Austrian proof marks. How hard will it be to replace the front site? I am planning to put in a set of XS big dot sites. Thank you R/ Mike |

If it's the stock plastic one............easy as hell. Yank out the tiny pin in the middle, and yank the sight right off. Or, just grab it with pliers and twist the thing right off. They come off surprisingly easily.
If it's a steel pressed-on (staked) type, throw the slide on a vise, and pound the site out with the appropriate size punch, like a 1/8th or so. |
