I just picked up a NIB G19 with the Austrian proofs only. I am told that there were 3000 of these brought in country to help alleviate the backlog of guns. Does anyone think these will be collectible in the future? |
| Well I have been looking for a 19 for a few weeks and found one while I was out of town this weekend. Knew that something didn't seem right about the markings on the gun but couldn't figure out what was different. But when I got home I got on here and realized I have one of the ones in question. I guess that's pretty cool I am just glad to have finally picked one up. |

Picked mine up today, a G-19. It has Austrian proof marks instead of the Glock logo on the right side of the slide. While waiting on the state approval, got a call from another store that "my Glock 19 was ready for pickup". Two in one day.. Well that one will have to stay on lay away for a another payday.
Picks later.. |

Here are the pics from the EE: Looks interesting! I was planning on putting one on layaway but I decided what the heck.... Mine looks just like the one above. I have been thinking about a G36 single stack .45, but it was the same thickness and size as the G19... so that sold me. |

I purchased one last week that has the same markings and was a blue label LE model. This is my second G19. I'm tempted to call the store in the morning to see if they have any left. Do I really need a third one? i just got my first and im already planning on my second . most likely will be a G30

Seems like the number of this being imported is close to 10,000!
Still I think they're cool and tried in vain last week to find one locally (I did find one, but the dealer refused to sell it to me due to me not being a U.S. citizen but that's a whole other story) and grabbed one in WA off of Gunbroker yesterday... Bye bye H & K hello Glock! Next thing I need is my CCW. This week will be a good week! |

I scored one today!
My buddy from the shop PM'd me and said they received a shipment of G19s and he sat on aside, that had the Austrian proof markings, for me
Of course as luck would have it I'm out of town for a couple of weeks so I won't be able to pick it up until I get back. |

I picked up a new 19 the other day that turned out to be one of these.
When I finally got around to looking at it today it appears that it has a pressed in steel front sight, not plastic. Is this inherent to the Austrian models or do all new Glocks come with steel front sights and not the plastic ones I'm used to seeing? The rear sight is plastic! |

I looked at a non-austrian G19 last night, Gen 3 slide, and it looks like they added the steel pin. They're also super matte in color now, not this semi-gloss tannerite/tennifer/whatever finish, presumably to be more tacti-cool. |

What steel pin are you referring??? I've never heard of "super matte" color. Please elaborate In the grand scheme of things, none of this junk matters... I do like flatter than hell black. I'm talking black that doesn't reflect light and will scruff off yer flesh by simply rubbing against it. |

Color: All of the Glocks I had seen, owned, and shot to this point had a semigloss sheen or "lustre" or whatever you call it, these examples didn't. I'll call the new color superflat tacticool black. And you know that front sight thing? Instead of it being all plastic, these ones had what looked to be a metal pin. No, I didn't test it in the gun store if it was metal. |

mine is on top as well, test shells fired 2/16/09
edit top has proof marks and letters AOH. Side has serial, glock logo, 1, and a pentagon. Slide and frame are proofed with Smyrna,ga under trigger. Ill get pics when i have access to camera. Please someone reassure me this is going to be collectable before i shoot the hell out of it.... |

That's what happends when a co-worker buys one after seeing mine, then decides he wants a G26 a week later.

. most likely will be a G30
