how much slimmer is it than the normal G21 for instance?

I just held both and at 1st I did not notice any difference at all. After playing with each for a while I started to notice the differance. My knuckles were slightly off center of the trigger guard with the 21 and centered with the 21sf. Maybe 1/8" or a bit more difference in how my hand sits on the grip. I bought the 21sf.
I also own a G30 and G30sf. I shoot both well but prefer the 30sf, not that the g30 is to big though.......both are great!

I love my good ol standard G21...  fits my hand perfectly.  when i grab my xd45, i feel like I'm gorilla gripping it....  I'm now looking for a G30.

I ordered a 21SF and when I went to pick it up I thought I got the wrong one.  I actaully held it in one hand with a standard G21 in the other and I couldn't tell the difference (well other than the SF on the frame )  That said, it's a hell of a pistol.  you can't go wrong with either one.

Someone on here had a picture a while back.  The difference is in the backstrap.  If you look at them from the magwell, you can tell there is quite a bit of difference in the "thickness" of the area people put the grip plugs in.  Only way I can think to describe it.

And I agree with you.  When I got my 21SF I held a regular G21 and at the same time and I really couldn't tell a difference.  The more I use it the more the difference becomes apparent.

It's not a huge difference in dimensions, but personally I feel a big difference.  Main thing for me is the different contour of the backstrap, not as much of a hump.  Personally I love mine.
