upon searching brownells for aftermarket parts for my glock 17 i found this reduced trigger kit by ghost. it seems to come with everything all in one simple kit to make a good competition trigger for your glock. i was just wondering if anyoune has used this kit or could tell if it is a good deal or not. here is the brownells link to the item.

I've done a LOT of force-on-force work with simunitions-modified Glock 17s and NOT ONE STUDENT has remarked on trigger pull over hundreds of scenario runs - even though one of the Glocks has I think a 12lb trigger
A lot of guys swear by the 3.5lb triggers but I like to keep my Glocks stock... a lighter trigger on a Glock is a liability IMHO... Stay safe, Mike |
| I'm pretty sure that Ghost makes 4.5 and 5.5 pound connectors and springs as well. If it's your duty gun you may want to try a simple polish job on the connector and trigger bar. That should smooth things up without altering the pull weight and opening yourself up for liability issues. |

I would stay stock for a defensive pistol. The Ghost kit which you showed a link to has upgraded springs which again I would avoid unless the pistol is strictly for competition. You will also need to fit it which requires trial and error filing of the control tab which prevents overtravel.
If you absolutely must go lighter than the stock connector and the pistol is for defensive use as well, I would look at Gloccks OEM 3.5 connector or Ghosts ultimate or LWD's connector. Also, for defensive purposes I would not go with the Ghost Rocket 3.5 as it requires fitting (filing of the control tab) ETA: I obtained a butt load of Ghost connectors a while back. I think I have some of their older #4.5 connectors laying around which are new. These are "drop in". Send me a PM I can give you one to try. |

I put one in my Model 20 & I use it for carry. I don't suggest doing this unless one has LOTS of trigger time behind guns with light triggers though. For the record, I shoot IPSC with SA light triggers on my CZ's & also have a S&W Model 52 with a 1-1/2lb trigger. My .o2 |

I got it and the Wolf competition spring kit from Brownells about a year ago. A year later and all i've added is Sevigny's and an extended mag release. I've got over 50 stages with that connector! (USPSA Limited/Limited 10) I do have to admit though, that i'm sending my G17 off to Charlie Vanek for a trigger job as i'm buying a G34 and converting the G17 to an open class pistol this year... so the 3.5 will get pulled! (I'll get a 1.5 - 2 lb trigger instead) |
