Finally got my LWD 34 slide I ordered in June. It's pictured with my old beater 34 with tons of rounds through it.
The LWD slide replaced a Caspian slide that I returned after having lots of problems with. The Caspian slide had the firing pin hole in the breech too high in relation to the channel. Pin would have to cam up and through which caused light strikes. The Caspian slide was also soft and the slide stop cut had rounded to the point it barely held the slide back after 300 rounds. The LWD slide works perfect so far and the machine work is much better than the Caspian.

Excellent! Did you buy a dedicated frame to go with the custom slide? Yes, I have a couple of dedicated frames. One for the LWD 34 slide and another for an Advantage Arms .22 LR 17 upper. Eagerly awaiting the new LWD frames. I'll have to build another gun using their frame and slide.

Looks great. Is that a Blade-Tech holster? (the one w/the light mount) I really need one w/a light mount. Yes, they are both Blade Tech holsters. The light is a TLR-1. I have those same holsters for my G17. I am getting a G34 the end of this month after I teach another CCW course. |

My experience is actually with a G35 and AAC Evo-40, but I ran a Jarvis metric threaded barrel in mine til I sold it. If I had to do it all over again, I'd have gone with a factory Glock bbl and had someone cut / thread it. A G17L bbl can be threaded for use in a G34. |

Much tighter tolerances than the factory Glock The barrel is a drop in KKM and the fit is very tight. I wouldn't want it any tighter. I did have to lengthen the throat in the KKM barrel to shoot some 135 lead bullets that I have. The throat was surprisingly short in the barrel. I'm sure the gun is more accurate than I am. I was shooting offhand five shot groups with it at 25 yards that were under 3 inches with my 124 gr MG's over WSF load. With younger eyes or from a rest I'm sure it would shoot much better than that. |

Which sights are you using on the two different guns? Both have Warren Tactical Sevigny rear sights with .125 wide Ameriglo front sights. A G17L bbl is too long for a G17, so it would need to be cut to the appropriate length and then threaded. A G17L bbl might be perfect for a G34 though, so it might only need to be threaded. When you send in the bbl for threading, just tell the gunsmith what model glock you plan on putting the bbl in, and he should know whether to cut and to what length :-) |
