[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Removing magazine release

I need help removing the magazine release from my G19. I know I have to slide the spring into the opening but I don't have any ideas on how to pull it up after I get it to the opening in the release. Any suggestions would be helpful.

(Also remember to wrap the tip of the screwdriver with electrical tape, as to "not" damage the mag well/release.)

I like to use a long skinny electronics screwdriver like you find at Radio Shack and other like places.

After you do it a few times you will be like damn thats easy....

I knocked the sharp edges off a cheap screw driver with various grits of automotive sandpaper just for this purpose.A sharp screw driver can really chew the hell out of the mag release area in the grip frame.I learned the hard way.
