What is the best barrel to convert a model 32 to 40 cal? Who sells them? Also will 32 mags accepts 40 cal rounds or would I need to get model 23 mags?

You could just buy a standard, OEM, Glock 23 barrel and run it in your G32. You can use the same mags as well. In fact some of my older G22 mags are labeled .40/357 but not the new ones.

If you didn't want to run a standard G23 barrel you could run a Lone Wolf, KKM or Storm Lake Glock 23 barrel. Those will have traditional rifling and more chamber support.

I'm going to be picking up a G23 this weekend, and I'm also wondering what options I have for 9mm conversion barrels. Which one should I get, and should I be more worried about reliability?

I really like the Lone Wolf conversion barrel because that's what I have the most experience with. The Storm Lake and KKM barrels should be fine but I have no first hand experience with them. They do have a great reputation however.

As for reliability, more than likely you will experience some failures. For one the chambers will probably be tighter than a stock barrel and the ejector is different between the 357/40 and 9mm Glocks so you might experience some failure to eject or some inconsistant ejection patterns.

I wouldn't recommend carrying your G23 with a conversion barrel but they are excellent for practice and plinking.

I did a Glock 22 conversion using the Lone Wolf barrel.............9mm..........It ran 100% with Winchester White Box from China mart.................I swapped out the extractor for the 9mm one..........really had no problems until I started using reloads..........I have since been resizing my range brass with the EGW "U" die and have no problems...........shoots very well with 125gr lead bullets.............I sometimes carry this pistol with factory hollowpoints and have no reservations with reliability.......it is my go 2 piece................I ran about 100 rounds of lead reloads through it yesterday with no failures what-so-ever................

Nothing wrong with carrying a G23 with a conversion barrel in it, provided you've PROVEN it is in fact 100% reliable.  How do we do this?  500 rnds downrange with NO problems, but to each his own................

To the OP:  the BEST way to do what you're doing, convert a 32 to .40, is to just get a STOCK G23 barrel.  It will work perfectly.

You might have to use .40 caliber mags.  But the stock Glock barrel is your best bet for this.

I went the other way with my G35 (.40 to .357) with a Lone Wolf barrel and have been 100% satisfied. Completely reliable through 300 rds so far and very accurate (and getting even better as it wears in). My .40 mags have worked fine with .357 also though the last round is harder to sqeeze in.

After reading this topic I bought 1 ea Wolf 9mm conversion barrels for my 22 + 27.
Both dropped right in and hand cycled fine. Took 200 rds out for each weapon and fired all without a single stoppage of any kind. I did not replace any ectractors.
I will be using these barrels for practice only.
