What are the differences ?

Glock 34 has a beveled nose, 17L has a square one. Glock 17L is about .6" longer

I like them both, but 34 is a tad more practical for me and balances better..

Are the sights different ?

The sights on my 17L are adjustable; not sure on the 34 but I think they're fixed.

Wrong.

The 34 is available with either the factory adjustable Glock sights or night sights.

I bought a NIB 34 about a year ago and it had adjustable sights and extened controls.
and 3.5lbs connector
