| I'm not up on these, but how hard is it to get a hold of one and at what cost? |
|
In the United States, you cannot acquire one without registering as a dealer of NFA items. I'm a bit unclear on the nuance, but you may also require a legitimate letter from a law enforcement agency requesting that you provide such an item for a demonstration /T&E. |
Why would you even say something like that? ![]() I thought it would something cool to add to the collection. |
Because a legit one, figgering that there might be a couple rumored to be transferrable, would be in the $100k arena and he wants to know if you just think it is cool or a serious, as in like $100k serious collector. |
Ok, that makes more sense. Now days you don't know what people are implying. I take that back
|
But then it wouldn't be a "real" Glock 18 it would be a converted 17 |
A class 2 can make one without a demo letter but they cannot buy one without a demo letter.. |
And unfortunately it took a Type 07, SOT Class 2 Federal Firearms License, and dept demo letter to obtain. |
Anything worth having takes time, money and effort. |
|
True, but then again its not personally owned, but more like on loan. Damn shame that it can't be owned. I think I'm going to go and finger fuck one tomorrow. Just looking at that is pushing me to go to the range to go have fun with one. That and my other Glocks need a good ammo burn. Guess the G18 would be a good test for all the new mags I got also. |
Type 7 FFL with a Class II SOT actually (and thats for a manufacturer ) You could also do it with a 01 / Class 3 FFL (dealer) both with demo letters. |
