I purchased my first Glock (G19) a couple weeks ago and in taking it to the "range" I've noticed that the sites are a bit off, which I would like to correct.

I've seen the site adjustment tools on the various sponsor sites, the cheapest being around $90, but I can't see spending that to be used once then set aside.  Is there a alternative solution?  Cheaper adjustment tool?  Flathead screwdriver & hammer?

Any input would help.
Thanks in advance.

A wooden dowel and a soft face mallet works great for the factory plastic sights...

I just sold an almost brand new MGW adjustment tool.  Why?

Because it wasn't really necessary...

The sight tool isn't "necessary", but it sure makes sight adjustments a lot easier.  I'd own one myself for my 10 Glocks, but I borrow the one from the shop every time I buy another Glock or swap sights.

I use a Nylon punch and hammer , works great and it is a lot cheaper than the tool

As stated above there are various ways to adjust the sights.  I put the slide in a vise between two peices wood and tap the sights with a brass punch with a piece of old leather belt between the punch and sights so it doesnt mar.

Hold the slide in your hand.  Whack the site from the side with the plastic/nylon handle of a screwdriver.    I wouldn't recommend doing this with tritium sights, though.
