If some of you are such Glock haters then why the 7734 are you wasting your time and ours by blurting out your c**p ? Take your B.S. elsewhere where is probably welcome and leave the rest of us alone! We know what we like and respect those of us who feel the same. Glocks are damn good weapons regardless of model or caliber. If they were not then why would they be so popular world-wide, military and law enforcement??

 Cool rant dude!

Those guys are usually the same guys that love the AK for it's mystical fail proof properties much like the Glock.  Go figure.  Oh and they usually carry 40 ounce 1911s with 8-9 rounds of 45 ACP ammunition that will instantly kill bad guys if it merely passes by a bad guy.

I thought it was the glock guys like the AK-47s- because they're kinda accurate, cheap to buy, cheap mags, cheap parts, tolerant of cheap ammo, and even a monkey could maintain one?

I can shoot a glock okay, I just shoot other platforms a lot better. When it comes to something that might save my life, the idea of shelling out more than $500 bucks doesn't bug me, I'd say my life worth more than just that.

A glock isn't the only pistol that'll go thousands of rounds without failing, it's why I don't feel like I'm missing out by not owning one, it doesn't mean that I don't respect the consistency the platform offers.

As for the 8-9 shots of .45 that'll pass by someone and kill them?
Shot placement bub. It's why you want an accurate platform, a good trigger, good sights, and ergonomics that fit your hand (everyone is not the same!). This means the platform is conducive to accuracy- and the moment you need it to put shots on target in a short period of time- you're properly equipped. For a lot of people the glock just simply doesn't fit that criteria.
If shot placement is so important, why settle for pistol that is JUST minute of man in most people's hands (Read, joe couch commando is NOT larry vickers) at 25 yards? So just a hit is good enough at that distance now? Oh I forgot, firing shots at a BG ONLY happens at 7 yards . That makes about as much sense as bullets passing by people and killing them!

HA!  I do like my 1911 also.  But been real impressed with Glocks for the last few years.

At least we're not like they are in the 1911 forum.  It's kinda funny, the moderator will not allow posts that mention other pistol types.  I've seen that posted several times.

Just seems funny.

All those folks who had to send their G36 back to the factory to get them working right might disagree with you there. Ditto the Indiana State Police, the LAPD, and other agencies who have encountered issues when trying to issue non-9mm Glocks....

Are there some irrational and inaccurate criticisms of Glocks out there? Absolutely. That does not mean, however, that all negative mentions of the Glock (especially in non-9mm versions) are irrational and inaccurate.

Belief that the Glock's design sprang from the Blessed Virgin's womb, however, *is* irrational and inaccurate.

Glocks are tools. Like any other company some of their products are better than others. Stating that truth as truth isn't calling somebody's momma a 2 dollar whore and frankly I'm at a loss to understand why take offense to the notion as if someone had indeed called their mother a 2 dollar whore.

A glock is the best handgun, no manual or stupid grip safetys.  It has good ammunition capacity. They make the 21SF and 30SF now, so the grip will fit small girly hands. You dont even need to sent them to robar or other companys for grip reductions. Its a polymer frame so its light enough to carry all day and most important its reliable.

And I do own a 1911.  Just don't go and tell those guys at 1911Forum that it doesn't work for shit.

Well, I don't own a 1911, but I know the .45 is a good round. Many years ago I did own
a Llama .380 which was a miniature version of the 1911. It was a fine weapon and was realiable as 7734 and accurate enough at short distance. I just grew out of it and went to bigger and better, but the gun's design was not a problem and it never FTF and was easy to take down and clean. Wouldn't be offended by owning a .45cal version, but just can't bring myself to let go of my G-19! Maybe if I win the lottery I can afford one!!

I have owned 12 glocks and everyone of them I would trust my life with I do own a 1911 and sig and many others. I gunsmithed for a time and have worked on all brands and I can tell you that no other platform is as simple and reliable as glock. Just try and completely strip a sig every spring and do the same with a glock and see which one get done faster and without error. personal preference though I guess with the carrying of them. I am more comfortable with any glock in any size or caliber then when if ever I carry my 1911. again its just personal preference.

I'll fall back to my old but favorite Glock saying: Glocks are great guns for newbies and experts. It's the average shooters that have problems with them.

OHHH, man I thought that was aimed at the 1911ers here, it just sounded like the gunstore stuff we've all heard. I scanned that 1911forum once or twice, it was mostly legit, mostly... However there were a few of those, "Handgun technology ended in 1911 " hollow points don't work- only JMB can design a handgun of any kind types. I lol'd.

Great post. I think most haters are in your situation. Most who never dumped a few mags in one don't see the beauty inside the Glock. Yeah they are not the prettiest looking things, but they just run and go bang when you pull the trigger. I tested mine by putting 1200 rounds of Wolf through my G17 in one range trip with no FTF or FTE's put a smile on my face, till I had(well wanted) to clean the sum bitch. My G23 has been flawless also. Glocks might not fit everyone, but they sure aren't plastic junk!

Wait, are you saying there are people trolling the Glock forum? If so just report them.

This is a tech forum and that is not allowed. I intentionally stay out of the 1911 and AR10 forums cuz I know for a fact that if I opened my mouth I would be reported and maybe even given a time out.

Well put!

One of the first things that impressed me was a detailed examination after a detail strip.  There's almost nothing there, compared to some pistols!

It struck me as a most perfect, simply efficient, bullet-launching machine.  A technical work of art.
