| I'm thinking about getting a Glock 36 as a primary self defense & carry weapon. Do any of you have one for that purpose? What do you like or dislike about it? |
How's the recoil? |

I carry a G29, and my GF has a G36. I like the G36 being a little slimmer than the 29, and when I put 185gr +P in it it's only about 50-75ftlbs less energy than my 10mm carry rounds. Her 36 shoots nicely and she's happy with it. I've been considering one for hiking/deeper concealment. |

I have several Glocks, the 36 among them. I think it is a great CCW gun. I don't notice much more recoil with it than any other .45 I have owned, and there have been a lot of them. Kind of depends on the ammo. It conceals really well, either IWB, or on a deSantis belt holster with an un tucked square tail shirt. Thanks |

I carry a 36 IWB with a MTAC and 185g Gold Dots from Double Tap. That little sucker will bark with that loadheI also have a 29...just bought it. I need some more practice with it before I carry it. It is a bit wider as well so probably for cooler days with more clothing. Nice thing about the MTAC is the leather is really comfortable and the kydex can be swaped out for whatever pistol you want. You can have 1 holster and several kydex pieces to fit whatever you feel like carrying. |

Does the 36 have a fully supported chamber? I used to own a 30 but switched to a Springfield XD-40 because of the non-fully supported chamber issue. The XD is a little too big for me for CCW but one HELL of a dead on gun at the range. Basically I have my eye on a 36 as my primary CCW weapon, but I am still iffy because of the chamber issue in Glocks. I do reload my ammo, but Im not one of those guys who experiments with +P or +P+ loads, I load my rounds well under max. Needless to say, I am very fearful of kB's. |

My 36 fits the same holsters as my 19 and 26. The 36 is great, i use it as a ccw. I plink with it to stay fresh. I believe the 30 to be more accurate than the 36. But i have got where i can pop a steel plate (man size) at 100 yds. Just for fun. C-tac iwb and a custom iwb holster a friend made me. |
