For some reason I have started longing for a 21SF. I have carried a 19 in the past and am carrying a 26 now. I want the 21SF for the house because of the unwieldiness of the Remington 870 I keep around the house now. I would like it rigged with a flashlight on the rail under the gun.  I handled the 21 and 21SF and like the SF better. Who has shot a 21SF a lot? Any issues/recommendations?

Have a safe full of 1911's.............and One Glock 21SF.

have shot the snot out of the 21SF,runs like a charm, doesnt kick...Really fun to shoot !Have not shot as accurate as with the 1911,but my 1911's are single action triggers....but still the Glock is more than accurate enough for home defense ...Highly recommend it !
Have had NO issues of any kind, last range session ran 500 rounds thru it....not a hiccup !

I have two G21SF's, one as my primary carry weapon and one as my range gun (equipped with a Lone Wolf barrel for shooting reloads). I've put over 1000 rounds through my range gun without a glitch. At night I slide an Insight Technolgies M3X on my carry gun for nocturnal zombie attacks.

I've done side-by-side range evaluations using my G21, G21SF and G17. The results were very slight in accuracy variance, but I found that the G21SF provided a nice balance of accuracy, grip ergonomics, and controllabilty. I now only have the G21SF's in my Glock collection. Your experiences may differ, but I'm VERY impressed with this weapon.

PS:  I went with the ambi-pic rail versions as I like the ambi option for tactical reasons, and, well, the pic rails just looks cooler!

got a 21sf in Feb.  I have shot 2k rounds through it, most at matches, and it is a serious fun gun.  I will qual with it and it will be my next duty gun.  It will replace the glock 22 I currently carry.
definatly worth owning.

Got a G21SF for my birthday. Awesome pistol!

Recommendation: get a G21SF with the Glock rail and NOT the Picatinny rail. Can hardly find holsters for the gun with the Picatinny rail. Besides, I don't really want to mount a bi-pod.

Got mine yesterday. I wanted the Glock rail, but all they had was the Pic rail. What the hell, I'll take that one. Big mistake. The rail is the only thing I don't like about it. Shoots like a dream, low recoil, and accurate enough for anything I need. But the picatinny rail sucks ass.

Love my G21 for the larger grip....but the G30 SF for a compact concealed, ooohhh baby!

Why does the pic rail "suck ass" ? I'm just curious as I'm debating whether to get the Glock rail or pic rail. You have to admit, the pic rail looks so much "cooler"...hy.gif

I was just pondering the same point.  I have two G21SF's with the Pic rail and am mystified by the alleged anal-suckage complaints.  Both shoot great, draw smoothly from my Comp-Tac holster, don't snag on my concealment garments, hold my M3X light securely, and look pretty cool. To each their own I guess.

Just my opinion.  Is there anything wrong with the pic rail, No. I just wish I had shopped around for a glock rail.   It has complicated my holster selection a bit, I still have not found one I like for it, but then I haven't looked very hard yet.

Galco does build ONE (the FED), Safariland is a no go as is Bianchi. Maybe I was just looking at companies that aren't big enough in the industry.

I don't think it sucks ass, just can't get the holsters I like for it. Welcome to arf.com BTW.

So, I've been a big fan of Galco holsters for some time. Been using several different models with several different guns for about 15-years now. They're great and suit me well. I also like Safariland gear and have had a long affair with the 295.

I called both Galco and Safariland, asked em if they make my favorite holsters (Galco NSA, Royal Guard, FLETCH, Avenger, Safariland 295 or even the 007) for the G21SF w/Pic rail.

No, they don't make any of those holsters for the gun in question. And the G21SF w/Pic rail won't fit any of their holsters designed for the G20/21 with Glock rails. Even Called Bianchi... nope.

I've already got several holsters for the G20/21 with the "normal" Glock rail that my G21SF fits in, so Im saving a bit there by not having to go out and buy more holsters... that don't exist.

I have numerous handguns.  STI 1911, Sig p226, g23, S&W .357, yada yada yada.  The 21sf now resides in the most holy of places, next to me! New fave gun.

I've shot my friend's 21SF quite a bit now.  I have to say that I'd buy one in a second if we could here in MA, but they are not "compliant", since they were made after 10-21-98.  So, until I recover from my spinal surgeries and get my badge back, no SF for me.  I'll just have to stick to the 10 other Glocks I own, dammit.

I have large hands, and although most don't understand this when I tell them, smaller grips usually feel better to me.  Just like in wheelguns, K-frames fit me better than L's or N's.  A 17/22 size fits me a lot better than my 20/21, but the 21SF seemed to take care of most of that comfort problem.

I think I'll just have to go work for my friend where he's a Chief so I can be issued one!

Man, that "compliant" crap must get old at times. You brought something to mind that I've discovered for myself (which still mystifies me).  I've owned G17/19/37/38/39/21, and G21SF's, and when I compare the "feel" of the grips, I prefer the feel of the G17/G37. However, when it comes to shooting, I shoot best with the G21SF in side-by-side comparisons.  have you discovered anything similar?  Just curious.

Best of luck recovering from your surgeries!

My friend bought an S/F on a whim. Glad He did! It's a terrific shooter. We've compared it to my 21C(measuring re-coil) and it's about even. Also very comfortable to shoot.

If I didn't buy my 21C, I'd own one. It's that good!

I shoot accurately, easily, with most of my Glocks, but the G20 and G21 require a little more of a conscious effort for me.  My friend's G21SF is easily to shoot quicker with, though.

Out of the 10 Glocks I currently own, and the 8 or so I've owned in the past, the most comfortable Glock I have is my Gen 1 G17.  I used it for a speed steel class with Bruce Gray, and it was the best decision I've made.  I was considering using my Kimber 1911, or one of my Gen 2 or Gen 3 Glocks, but that Gen 1 G17 is just plain comfortable and natural.  I did "cheat" a little and installed a set of Hi-Viz fiber optic sights before the class.  They worked well, and I was shooting extremely accurately and fast on all of the stages.  Bruce is mostly associated with Sigs (I was the only Glock shooter in the class!), but the Glock sure worked for me.

Thanks for the well wishes on my recovery.  I'll know more how it's going after my CT Scan Thursday morning.
