Hey guys, I am picking up another Glock 22 today, I had one before that I bought with the intention of buying a 9mm conversion barrel so I could switch between the 2 calibers. I am wondering, is 9mm the only caliber the 22 can convert to? I thought I saw somewhere that .357 Sig was a conversion option as well. Also, what all will I need to do the conversions, just the drop in barrel and Glock 17 pmm mags right? I understand that the barrel HAS to be a conversion barrel and not just a 9mm barrel, I am planning on ordering from Lone Wolf. Could you guys help me out? |

A Glock 22 could be switched to 9mm or .357SIG (.22LR too with a conversion upper). All you need is a .357 barrel and you will likely need some Glock 31 mags since the .357 mags feed .40 but but the .40 mags do not always work well with .357. And, yes, you will need G17 mags for the 9mm conversion. Some people also find that they need a 9mm trigger block so that they have the proper ejector. Good luck with your Glock Combat Legos! |

As mentioned yes you can easily make the conversion to .357 cal and 9mm. I have a G22 that I have had for years and I have added every caliber I wanted to it to make it an ultimate range gun. Lonewolf .357 G31 barrell. I used the g22 style mags at first but then went to the g31 for more peace of mind and they aren't expensive. I also use a Lonewolf 9mm barrel but instead of the standard 9mm conv. barrel I went with the G35 version which sticks out 1" past the slide and looks sweet I use several 9mm mags and swap the ejector if I plan on shooting it in this configuration for long periods. For range trips there was no need to swap the ejector , functioned fine. Some don't!Then theres the .22lr conversion from Advantage Arms. I haven't used this kit too much and it probably needs to be broken in. I like it, lets you practice trigger and first shot draws, that sort of thing. Ammos cheap. But for the most part this particular G22 of mine has become my G34. ![]() ETA: shoulda told ya what I spent for everything. G22 way back in the day with 2 15rd mags = $550 Lonewolf barrell .357 = $100 4 mags .357 = $ 75 Lonewolf barrell 9mm = $100 several 9mm mags =$ 100 9mm ejector = don't remember, wasn' much at all .22lr AA kit = gift from wife.$ 200 with shipping About $1100 give or take my memory lapses and the fact It was collected over several years and not all at once. My favorite gun by far. |
| I just picked up a nice used 3rd Gen model 22. I have not had the opportunity to shoot in 40 yet. I purchased the lone wolf conversion barrel and five 9mm magazines. what a great combination. I got the barrel from Cheaper than Dirt. Fast shipping. The only place I could find one as of a couple of weeks ago. |
