I recently picked up my first Glock 17. I liked it so much at the range last week i was thinking about picking up a G34 or 35. I just sold off one of my Sigs so the money is burning a hole in my wallet.  My question is if i went with the G35, can i swap the barrel and shoot 9mm? And will the G17 mags work?  Thanks!

If you're going to be shooting 9mm, buy the 34 IMO.  Unless you're just dying to have a 40.  I like to keep all of mine the same caliber so I can use the same ammo and mags - I have 3 G23's (one for me, one for the wife, and one in the safe) and a G35.  Hope to add a G27 by the end of the summer.

You have to buy a special (non-Glock) barrel for the G35 that fits the 40-cal breechface but chambers 9mm.  Reliability may not be 100%.

Why not just get the G34?  Lower recoil, cheaper ammo.  If you want power, get a G21 or G20.

I was thinking it would be a "nice to have" to be able to shoot .40. Ive got a P226 in.40 but never shoot it. 9mm is much cheaper. I'll probably just go with the 34. Thanks for the input!

I have a glock 34 and 35. I purchased a lone wolf conversion barrel in both the 9mm and 357 Sig for the 35. They BOTH function flawlessly and there is no real conversion to it. G17 mags fit right into the 35 frame.  You can check them out at www.lonewolfdist.com
They also do some other nice customization with a laser.
