Just recently put some new parts into my new 21-SF, extended release mechanism, 3.5 pound trigger, steel guide rod, and now, at the range, everytime it fired I had to drop the slide via the slide release. Wouldn't even pull to the rear and release, only the slide release. Needless to say, this wouldn't be acceptable in a street match. Any thoughts on this? Or have I gone into the "next realm" of Glocking.? By the way, before ya'll ask, 230 gr hardball and Glock mags. hinking.gif

Something is forcing the slide release up all the time.

Unload it, clear it, safe it.

Look at things that touch the slide release lever - you probably put something together wrong when it all went back together.

I'd take a close look at the spring on the slide release lever...I bet its going over the retaining pin above instead of under it

check your slide stop spring and bar's position--sounds like its hung up or crookedly installed on the cross pin

The slide "lock" spring must ride under the locking block pin, and catch the recess in the trigger bar pin.

Good luck!

Not sure this is your problem but, the slide stop spring has to be under the pin as pictured. If not there wont be any tension keeping the stop down. Hope this fixes it for you.
