I did a little searching on these. I've seen them on sale for about $20, while my local stores sell them for ~$30-40. Should I go ahead and purchase them? Are these in any immediate danger of being banned or anything like that in the future? Where is a good place to read up on stuff like gun laws, and information on the past and future laws. I want to get a couple for my Glock 17, but after just spending $560 for the gun I'm a little hurt on money at the time. I've only got the 2 17 round magazines that came with it. Thanks. |

FWIW, I do not think you need to worry about a new gun or magazine ban until after the Elections and the new officials take office. The problem is that if the liberals take over I would honestly not be surprised to see them propose new legislation and people (like you) that do not have what they may want are going to panic buy. You will see backorders and if a new law comes too quick you may not get to buy what you want... I am not proposingthat anyone panic buy, but right now mags and guns are about as cheap as we have ever seen so it is a VERY good time to stock up. I have been stocking up for 4-years now and I am still buying a little at a time as I want to ensure that I have enough guns, mags, spare parts, and even ammo to ensure that my grandchildren can defend this great country if all of these things could be banned tomorrow. I am at that point and FWIW my kids are only 10, 7 and 4. At a minimum, I would not want less then half a dozen mags for any gun that I want to have in a crisis and my own glock 17 I have a dozen 17-rd mags and a dozen 33s (or more). Overkill perhaps, but I remember these mags costing 5x or more then what they cost now so I buy a few more every month. |
That $20 mag is probably a Scherer (sp) mag, it is junk. Make sure whatever you buy is genuine GLOCK! I bought the 33rd glock, it functions flawlesly. I hear that the Scherer mags are garbage though and they cost about $20, while genuine glock mags are about $30. |
Me too. I have mine the exact same way every night. The G18 mags are rock solid. |

This time next year you might expect to pay $120 for 33 round magazines and $80 for 17 rounders. It's a risk, like all things, so buy if you can or wait until you have more funds. I have about 50 17-rounders and 10 33-rounders for my Glocks. I'll be damned if I pay Ban Prices EVER AGAIN!
