Just got my first Glock > Glock

Hi there,

Just got my first Glock today. It's a G17, I wanted one for my collection because I think this was one of the first models they made.

How can I tell what generation it is?

It doesn't have finger grooves or a rail on the front so I think that rules out a Gen III.

Also any tips from experienced Glockers on the 17 are apprecaited.

you need to post some pics ASAP.

You will be happy with the G17. I love mine. Glocks are definitely an addiction and they will soon multiply.

that a nice gen 1 glock

i have been thinking about getting a 1st gen glock. It appears that I only have 3rd gen glock and maybe a 4th if you call the 21sf a new generation.

Thanks so it looks like she's a 2nd generation.

I can't wait to shoot this thing at the range.

I'm handling this peice now and thinking why didn't I get one sooner....

First Glock i owned was a Gen 2 Glock 17, shot the crap out of it. I traded it for a H&K USP In 40cal , wish i would have never made the trade i hated the H&K . I had the H&K for about 4 days sold it and got a Glock 21 .

All i own now is Glocks and 1 S&W 642, Glocks work the best for me and i like them in 9mm or 45acp

This is the first 9mm I've owned.

I've shot plenty of 9mm before but never had one in my collection.

Anyone have any ammo suggestions for CCW?

Has anyone seen $250.00 fair condition Gen 1 Glock 17'S at anytime recently ? ( No Mag or looking like it fell outta a vehicle on the highway (Scrapes & such ?) or not worthy of front of the glass case display ? (Gen 2 also ?)
