I have a Glock model 22 2nd generation that I bought about 10-11 years ago.
I have put about 7-8k rounds through it and have noticed that when shooting and the mag is emptied, after I drop the empty mag and install the full mag, I don't have to push the slid stop lever. The force from me just pushing the new full mag into the gun cause the slide to pull forward.

I have never done any modification and everything is still original.

I have taken the entire gun apart and cleaned it hoping this may have helped.

I have also been in the habit of always cleaning my fire arms after every trip to the range.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It's normal. All my GLOCKs do it if the mag is inserted vigorously enough.

Many, if not most, double column magazine pistols can do this if the magazine is slammed into the mag well hard during a reload from slide lock. Some feel it is sort of a 'bonus' but I don't fall into that camp. I want my pistol to remain at slide lock until I activate the slide to deliberately let it forward. Still, the point is that your Glock is not broken just because it does this.

We that anwser my question.

I have become very use to it and it does not bother me.
I just wanted to be sure that this was normal.

Sounds like it is.

Thanks guys.

That has happend to me several times at the range with my Glock 23. When we qualify for our department, after every 10 rounds fired we need to do a reload. I constantly have to do a "rack the slide a little" to make sure it has chambered a round. In 5+ years of shooting it has never failed to chamber a round. Like you said, think of it as a bonus.

As others have stated this is normal.

Thanks, couldn't remeber the "Offical Term" for the life of me.
