LPA Glock Sights ? Just bought a Glock 20 (someone please welcome me to the 10mm club Opinions of the LPA sights and my suggested usage for them? Or just any opinions at all on my setup for hunting with this weapon? Ammo suggestions? I am looking at Double Tap's 200gr. FMJ-FP or their 200gr. Beartooth WFNGC. Thanks in advance. |

I've never used them, but I thought fiber optic sights were worthless in low or no light conditions. The thing that makes them visible is in the ability to capture good light and make the points appear to glow. The less light you have, the less visible they become. And when it comes to different loads at handgun hunting ranges, the difference isn't going to be so huge, that you should need adjustable sights. A good strong hunting load, in 10mm, should shoot fairly straight. You don't face some of the issues with bullet drop that can occur with other calibers. Personally, I would just throw a set of metal three dot, tritium or not, metal sights on the thing and call it good. Either that or scope it, which would provide you with the adjustability you are looking for, if your shooting ranges are really going to extend that far out. |
| Welcome to the da club ie: Glock and 1omm!! You will love them! I personally have the TFO's and love them. I would reccomend them to you. The only thing they are not adjustible. You can pick one type of ammo for hunting( I would go with the 200 gr bear toothpersonally) and the adjust the sights to that load and then set the set screw. The TFO are pretty cheap now! |

Thanks for the replies. Yeah I considered that they might be not so good for low light and that the TFO's would be perfect; I just really want that adjustablility. I think what I might do is see if my chosen hunting load hits to poa with the factory sights and then get the TFO's hoping for the same. Actually that'll work out fine because if the Truglos don't work with my Glock 20 I'll just slap them on my bedstand/HD Glock 21: it doesn't need to be 100% dead on as the longest shot in my house for self defense would be only about 5 yards. Thanks again for helping me sort this out. |
