What is the difference between the second generation and third generation Glocks?  I have a first generation 21 (because it's old) and new 17 and 19 (because they are new).  What is a second generation?

2nd generation is when they added the stippling to the grips but had NOT added the front finger grooves yet.

IIRC

You don't have a 1st Gen G21.  They never made them.  The only 1st Gen Glocks are G17's and some G19's.

If you search here, you'll find the comparison pics of the Gen 1, 2 and 3 Glocks.  The Gen 1's have one solid texture around the entire grip (which I like the best).  Then, the Gen 2's have the texture on the sides of the grips and the "checkering" moulded into the front and back.  The Gen 2.5's have the finger grooves, but lack the equipment rail of the Gen 3's.

Thanks for the information, I appreciate it.  I guess I don't have a 1st generation Model 21.
