I have a 36 (starting to wonder why - not much smaller than others with more capacity). I've been playing with and carrying ball ammo for a while now and it works fine in this gun, but several types (all that I've tried) of hollow points jam. I've noticed that after it jams you can push up on the mag and it slams into battery as it should have. While scoping it out I noticed that the polymer frame has bowed downward in the center. the front and rear make contact, but the center has such a large gap that you can stick a steak knife in there and touch the round in the magazine. I suppose this may be normal, but looking at other people's guns, I don't see this bow. Is carrying this thing loaded ruining it? It seems that the bow is worse when loaded.

I'm not an anti-polymer nut by any means, but I'm starting to wonder.

Has anyone else seen this?

I am not following.  What part of the frame are you looking at and sticking a knife in?  The G36 is known to have issues.

Known to have issues? Please enlighten me! This is my CCW weapon, I need to know.

What I mean is:

At the barrel end the steel slide contacts the polymer frame.

At the rear end, the steel slide contacts the polymer frame.

In the center - under the ejection port (both sides though) there is a fairly large gap between the frame and slide.

OK, I just thought that may be a contributing factor to my problem. If it's just cosmetic, no big deal.

I wonder why I'm having the FTF.

Does it happen with every magazine?  Is it failing to feed?  Failing to fire?  Or failing to eject?  Because they are different issues.  From you first post it sounded like you were having a failure to feed problem.  Now you are saying its a failure to fire problem?

Shit! Nope meant Failure to Feed, sorry.

The round is stuck in the mag, between the feed ramp and slide. Appears that the edge of the hollow point's nose is catching at the bottom of the feed ramp. The slightest pressure under the mag, or bending the frame upward makes it act OK.

I only own 2 mags for it, and they both do the same thing.

Have you called Glock?  They will be happy to take a look at it for you and see if it is out of spec or there are other issues.

I use winchester 230gr +p in my 36, I have used just about every hollow point. None of the problems you have suggested.

What are the first digits of the serial number?  If it is one of the earlier G36s they did have feeding problems like you are describing.

That gap is normal on all Glocks to one degree or another.  The gap is designed to be there to allow dirt and grit to exit the weapon under adverse conditions, so Glock claims.
