I picked up a new G17 mag at a gunshow this weekend.  When I got home, I noticed it fits a little looser in my pistol than the other mags I have.  After comparing the new one to the others I noticed a few differences.  First, the opening above the "9mm" stamp is narrower and deeper than the others.  Second, there is a rectangular cutout in the front of the mag above the mag catch indention with a piece of metal behind it.

This is the only G17 mag I've seen this way.  Is it an older mag, or a newer version?

Thanks

newer it appears to be one of the fully metal lined drop free magazines, they are a bit looser in the gun from my experience. I have two magazines my dad gave me with plus2 basepads that just say Glock on them, no caliber markings. They are from Glock only made 9mm pistols.
