Got some standard XS Sights for the 19. The front sight went on without a hitch; however, i can't get the rear sight in. It has the tritium tube in the rear, and XS's FAQ says no sight pusher. it slides easily abour 1/3 of the way on, but once the edge of the sight hits the middle of the slide, it stocks. It's the same when inserted from either direction. Advice? |

how are you installing? my trijicons did the same thing (go in about 1/3 or so the way in); i viced the upper (w/ pad) and knocked in my rear sight w/ a hammer and punch; laying the slide on its slide and punching downwards also works h/w, i'm not sure if thats how the XSs work; for example, my Meps rear for my HK instruction said to "lightly file/remove metal until my rear sight" almost goes in tightly |

I wasn't sure how to proceed, as i've never installed pistol sights before. From the included instructions, it seemed like they would just slide in, and you pressure the sight with set screws, and they would be held in place by the provided loctite. It does come with a plastic punch. The FAQ HERE says no sight pushers, but i guess a few taps with the plastic rod might do the trick. i was just afraid of busting the tritium tubes. thanks for your insights! |

JHC, guys, the "no sight pusher" isn't a prohibition against using a sight pusher, it's telling you that, normally, a sight pusher isn't required. If you have a pusher, OF COURSE use it! Make sure that you've backed out the setscrews, too. If you don't have a pusher, then a few taps will do the job. |

Lay the slide on the side of a large roll of tape. Make sure screws are backed out enough. Using a hammer with a plastic heat, or, using the supplied delrin punch, give the sight a whack or two using the supplied delrin punch. I've had to do this on all of mine. The sight will probably get to a point where it is loose again in the dovetail. When sighting in, and before applying loctite, be sure not to overtighten the screws. The set screws are there only to temporarily hold the sight in place till loctite is applied and cured. |
