This question may have already been addressed.

What is the factory refinishing slides with?  If I understand correctly, the tennifer process is not allowed in America, so are they shipping the slides back to Austria or refinishing them with something else?

Tennifer is a steel treatment that will always be there. The slide basically gets a
black phosphate finish on top of the tennifer treatment.

They may be using a black sharpie and hitting us for $60.00

Will Golck refinish a slide that has been (altered) "gunsmithed?"

Wish they would bevel the front of the slide on the G23. Well, it’s Glock, wish in one hand and shit in the other and see which one fills up faster... Anyway, was thinking of having the front of the slide beveled (a la G34/G35) by one of the custom Glock smiths and then would like to send it back for a factory re-finish; make the whole thing look factory.

I had front serrations added to my Glock 20C slide and needed refinishing.  I sent the slide to Glock for refinishing.  After receiving the slide they called me back and said they could not refinish the slide becuase of the modifications. So after getting the slide back, I sent it to Glockmeister and got it refinished for something like $45.00.  Looks brand new but with front serrations.
