Just tried out 2 different types: The Scherer finger tip extension that replaces the floorplate of the G-26 mag and adds no capacity and The A&G Grip extension that slides over a G19 mag so you can use it in a G26. Two thumbs way up for the Scherer - I'll always use one on the mag I carry in the gun. Great feel. Makes the G26 much more user friendly. Thumbs down on the A&G. It doesn't stabilize the G19 mag so it shifts around, disturbing your grip - Worse that a regular G19 mag alone. Just my opinion after trying both - YMMV |
You either had the wrong A&G extension, or you didn't install it correctly. The A&G extensions work exactly as advertised. I've used one with a G19 mag in a G26 and a G21 mag in a G30. |
Like I said, YMMV. I have the correct A&G and it is installed correctly. I'm glad you like yours. I won't use them and it is not a quality problem. The problem is conceptual. Glock mags (read that "almost all pistol mags") can shift some fore and aft. With the Scherer your little finger shifts the mag back into hard contact with the back of the mag well. The heel of your hand still contacts the lower back edge of the Glock grip frame, so there is no counterforce on the mag to push it back forward. With the A&G, or any other that contacts the hand fore and aft, the ability of the mag to shift in the mag well and the presence of shifting grip force in both directions, means the A&G, or any other that is conceptually similar, will never be steady. |
