| Does anyone own a Glock Tactical Light? What are your impressions of it and how does it compared to the other brands (Surefire, Insight Tech or Streamlight)? I am looking for a light that would allow me to identify targets for home self defense. |
| they look overly bulky and heavy. Id do a surefire for pure light quality. I own 2 insight XMLs for my xds and they are very nice and light too. Pretty bright too. They also only costs around $80 but run off a small 3v which probably doesnt provide a long runtime. |
I have one of Glocks lights and its a good buy IMO (about $65.00). The light is kinda spread out so you cover more area but it does not shine as far as some of my others. Maybe better for inside work. The Surefire X200 thats on my Warrior is my favorite but it is kinda heavy (about $200.00). It also has a super concentradted light beam. My USP has a Hk factory Insight light that is nice but is not as nice as the X200. The best thing about the Glock light is the weight. Its not as noticeable when shooting as the Surefire. I don't think I would put the X200 on a Glock because it would be kinda nose heavy. On a 5" 1911 its not that bad though. |

I had a Glock light on one of my G34's for HD, but it has since been replaced with a Surefire X200A. The Glock light was less intense and had a more yellow beam that was not uniform and could be varied in focus. The Surefire is much "whiter", brighter and has a uniform beam. IMO, there is no comparison between the two. The Surefire is supreior in every way to the Glock light. Better waterproofing too. Also, I seriously doubt it is heavier. If it is, I couldn't tell it. |

i have a Glock light on a CZ 40 which is my night stand gun. It's ok. I own 3 TRL-1s as well. The Glock light to me seems cheap, and dinky. The switch feels like it's going to break if you push too hard. The only reason i have is the price. Same reason i keep a CZ next to the bed at night. If it's used in a defense shooting it will most likely be taken to local LE until the case is closed or the trial is over. By the time i get the gun back it will be FUBAR'd. I've seen guns returned to owners after shootings. Took a year for a guy to get his back after another man used it in a suicide. I don't want to invest too much into a gun that will be trashed. IMO.
