I read the posts about Glockmeisters legal issues-looks like prison pinstripes for him. Too bad- I WAS going to send a Glock or two down to him for some minor work-rod guides, stronger springs, 3.5 # trigger, extended mag release, etc., and perhaps what ever else he might have thought viable-night sights, etc. I realize most of these options are simple to install, but I learned long ago I am better off doing what I do well, and earning more money than the effort to modify on my own would cost me in lost income, plus I always end up short some tool or the other, not to mention flying springs. Any GOOD Glock smiths in the Minnesota area, or any good recommendations at all? I have no problems shipping as long as the recipient on the other end KNOWS what they are doing. Thank you in advance. |

Short of something like fitting a barrel, the mods you speak of are just parts swaps on a detail stripping, which should be done every few thousand rounds or so anyway (not the sights). Please read the link below, and see just how easy it is to strip a Glock down for the detail cleaning, and you will see that the parts you speak of, are truly drop in items that will not take a smith to install http://www.alpharubicon.com/mrpoyz/glock/ As for the sights, you could use a smith, but with fixed sights, you may have to drift the rear to zero out the pistol after they have been installed, and having a sight vise at that time will be money better spent up front to install the sights yourself, then having to come up with additional funds at a latter time. |
