| well im getting a new glock and i cant figure out what i want. I am really leaning towards a glock 35. i have a g17 and a g22 i really like the 40 cal round but im not to fond of the muzzle flip on my g22. do you guys like your g35's? it seems like the recoil would be more managable? please give opinions.thank you. |
| i dont have to much shooting time with my g22 because i JUST got it and only put a few boxes of rounds through the gun. i am thinking of getting into iipsc its also the only shooting competition i have seen with using just practical stock pistols. what exactly is IDPA? but is it really hard to shoot with a 40 cal? how do you do with your g22? |
IDPA It is pistol competition based on consealed carry, not as much run and gun as USPSA. You utalize shooting from cover. Shooting 40 S&W is not hard at all. I placed 3rd in my class at Nationals this past year with my G22. I do agree with NoHarmNoFAL-01, the flip is reduced with reloads. |
| im sure i can manage the recoil after some practice.i thought reloading a glock 40 cal wasnt a smart thing to do? haha do how much longer is the 35 compared to the 22 is it about the size of a 1911? and can it be a practical gun? or just competition? and is it more accurate? |
| The G35 is around an inch longer and weighs almost 2 oz more than the G22. It is about the size of a 1911. It is practical - I have seen several LEO carring them around here. It would be a excellent choice for home defense, but its consealability depends on your size. I am about 5'9" and 175lbs and have a hard enough time consealing my G27. As far as accuracy, the first 2 shots I fired with my G35 were a double tap to the head of a IDPA target at 15 - 20 feet - they were in the center of the head and touching. Now, I am not saying that will happen every time, but I have been inpressed with the accuracy from my G34 and G35. Hope this helps. |

I love my G35, you can see it on the pictures thread. The long slide and top opening assist on balance. Regarding the muzzle flip, it doesn't really bother me unless my grip isn't strong enough. Having a strong grip with a firm arm not only controls muzzle flip, but also accuracy. I've shot 165 & 180 grain ammo with my G35 and love it. |

Heres what I would do. Keep the 17. Sell the 22. Buy a 35 to replace the 22 (once you get a 35...you're not gonna touch your 22...I mean really, whats the point) Since you were looking to add a third Glock, get something like a 19 or a smaller Glock, to have a CCW. You'd have a very well rounded Glock collection if you did that :-) A .40 with minimal muzzle flip, and two really nice 9mm's that will cover damn near any situation. Get a 6004, and you'll have a really nice kit. Scott |
Im sold time to purchas a G35 ![]() Hey what is a 6004? |
| I carry a 35 on duty. It's a real cupcake compared to the 22, muzzle flip is tame and perceived recoil is low. I sold my 22. Even with the 5.5 trigger it handles like a dream. It points more natural for me and the front sight is easy to find. I've shot the 3.5 trigger and thought it was nice, but I prefer the crisp let off of the 5.5. Get one, you won't regret it. |

I had a Glock 22 for a long time and it was a great shooter however NOTHING tops my Glock 35. I got it off of an individual and mainly bought it because of how good the deal was. Once I shot it I was hooked. The Glock 35 is the best Glock made in my opinion. Too big to carry concealed unless in Winter but hey that's what the G23 and G27 are for. If you have a G35 then you really will not need a G22. The frames are identical so the grip feel is the same. The slide and barrel are just about an inch longer. Great balance and super accurate. Good luck. CSP |
