I have just bought one off of a friend and was wondering what you guys think of the 357Sig. I have reloaded the for him be never shot it. It has less than 500rnds through it and he just got pressured into selling it by his wife. On paper it looks like a good round. I have a .40 and he told me that the muzzle jump was crazy compared to the 357. I own all types of pistols including a 357mag in a desert eagle and was looking for real world experience sense I can't go shooting for 3 more weeks although I cant wait to shoot it

I HAD a G33 and loved it. Muzzle flip was a little worse than my G23 but not in any means unpleasant.  Sold it because the muzzle flash was blinding even at high noon.

Well I think the muzzle flash will be fine. Can't be worse than a 44 mag, right?

prob not worse than i 44 mag. i just did not think i could use the gun for personal defense if i was going to be blinded after shooting just once...this was before double tap ammo introduced a ultra low flash load for this caliber.

Well if it bothers me I will have to try some different loads. Kind of use to alot of muzzle flash so sounds like it will fit right in with the rest of my pistol collection

If flash from the ports in the barrel bother you too much, just pick up an unported G31 barrel.
The recoil from a 357 SIG is snappier than a .40. It has more muzzle blast than a .40 too.

I own a 31c and I am very happy with it. I do not feel the compensator flash is bad at all, but we are all being subjective. I think the 357 sig is the best semi-auto pistol cartridge after the .45acp. I would sell your .40sw and do a trigger job on the 31c and add some other custom touches.

I have a G32 and it's a snappy little round, that's for sure. It's manageable and I think it's a tad bit worse than the G23 but I like it better than the .40 S&W round. A compensated model might be friendlier on the recoil.

Enjoy it!
