I know that there are a lot of Glock fans/members on here, so I have a Glock question for you all.  I have the option to buy either a new Glock 19 or 23, w/3mags, out the door for $438.00.  Out of the two, which model do you like best over the other and why?  This will be my first Glock- I already have 3 Sig's (228/9mm, 239/357Sig, and 220ST/.45).  Thanks in advance!

They are both pretty much the same size. Can't go wrong with either. I only have a 19 and love it.

I have a glock 19 only because I bought it for my g/f and she ended up not liking it. However I really like it, it's a great size to conceal, yet still as accurate (at least as far as I am able to shoot) as a full sized pistol.

If I was going to buy a new one I think I'd get a 23. I have shot both and can't tell the difference recoil wise really. Of course 9mm makes for cheaper practice ammo and according to the internut experts 40s blow up all the time

However you already have several pistols, if you are just getting a Glock to have one and don't foresee it being a carry gun I would definitely get the 9mm so it would be cheaper to shoot.

If I were you I would go with the 19.  You won't need to stock another caliber that way.  Also, 9mm is the cheapest caliber to shoot (other than .22lr).

Thanks for all of your opinions so far.  Sorry, I forgot to mention that I also have a Kel-Tec in 40 S&W, so I have the ammo on hand already.  I like the 9mm round, and I carry an M-9 when I am flying over in the desert.  I've heard good reports on Glock's durability and I haven't heard of anyone having any major function problems with them- other than accidental discharges.  I'll think about it for a few more days.  Thanks again!

Go with the 19, can't go wrong there.

I bought the G23 because you can convert it 9MM very easily. In fact I have not shot any .40 through mine yet.

I carry a 23 at work because that is what we are giving out until we switch over to the 21's budget willing.  My BUG is a 26 and I am waiting on a 19 from ky-medic from the EE that will have the grip stippled.  I do not see enough difference between a good 9mm and the 40 to warrant the extra $ when you can buy more practice ammo.

We are going to the 21 because because the Sheriff believes in flying ash trays.

I've got both, but I would get the 19 over the 23.  9mm is cheaper and more fun to shoot.

+whatever for the win!

I didn't know they made any other Glock than the G19

You will love it!  Cheap to shoot, higher capacity, 100% supported chamber, 15 round capacity, and despite what the "old timers" have to say 9mm WILL get the job done damn near as well as .40 .45 or whatever other major handgun caliber.

Great inputs from everyone.  I thought it over last night I decided to go with and bought a G23 this morning.  One of the main selling points was the price- which was the same out the door price for either model.  After a quick field strip and lube, I took it out to the range and I am very happy with the performance.  Again, thanks for the inputs!
