| I have a 24C that I use for steel matches at my local club. Well the last 2 times I shot it, I have a large ammount of leading in the barrel after the ports. I am shooting FMJ factory loads. It looks like the ports are stripping the jacket off of the bullets. Is this a common problem with the ported barrels? My 24C is an older one - from back when they sold the upper as a complement to the G22 and probabally has thousands of rounds through it. |

If you are using plated bullets that may be the problem. I've had a 24c for a while now and the only time i've had a problem was with a incorrect load on a factory round. The lead basically melted before it left the barrel. I had large amounts of lead deposited around the ports. Have you tried another brand to see if you get the same results? J |
| My bet is plated, but I am unsure. The rest of the barrel is lead free. The only leading I see is in the rifling specifically the groove that runs through the ports. I have only tried one specific kind of ammo - CCI Blazer Brass, but I have used it in my G22 and G35 without any problems. |
