| So, me and a buddy head to the local indoor range. I have my glock 22 and my buddy has his .40 sig 226. We each have 100 rounds of winchester white box. We decide to get 100 rounds of reloads at rhe range also. WWB runs fine. My buddy starts to get stovepipes in his sig. Me, I am shooting a mag of reloads and my slide locks back. Check, and bullets are still in the mag. WTF? Continues to do this every few rounds (of reloads). My mags are newer and one is brand new. Should I be concerned or just attribute it to the reloads? Also on one mag the slide failed to lock back after the last round was fired, also with reloads. |

The reloads would not cause your slide to lock back, or not lock back when it is supposed to. You are either touching the slide stop lever while you are shooting, or you recently changed or otherwise messed with the slide stop lever, and you probably failed to re-install it properly. You have to make sure the spring is in between the two frame pins. As far as the stovepipes, he may have gotten tired after shooting those first few rounds and started limpwristing. Or the ammo could have been too weak. Did it feel low powered? |
. If your friends SIG and your Glock ran fine on some of the nastiest factory ammo produced but not the reloads. I would put my money on someone elses reloads.
