| Can anybody recommend a good holster for a glock 23? I want one that I can carry on my belt behind my back. Thanks a lot. |

You didn't specify if you like leather or kydex. If you're a die-hard leather guy then just disregard this. I'm of the opinion that Sidearmor is the SHIT. Their Glock IWB holsters are hands down the nicest kydex holsters I've tried. Modular belt loop/hook attachments mean you can easily change your cant or method of attachment without buying a new holster. The quality of the molding, the fit, and the adjustable 'isometric tensioner' are awesome. It has good retention while still retaining that buttery-smooth swooosh feeling when you draw, and a nice positive 'click' when you reholster. I carry a G17 daily in a 15 degree cant Sidearmor IWB @3:30. It's comfortable all day, and even the full size G17 literally disappears, even under a T-shirt. As a side benefit (if it even matters to you), the Sidearmor also seems to be really easy on the finish. I've been carrying my G17 daily and practicing presentations almost every night for the past four months. I'd estimate roughly 1,500 draws and reholsters with this setup, and the damn gun looks like I just took it out of the Glock tupperware. On another note, lots of people on the Glock forum seem to like the Comptac C-TAC as well. ETA: By 'behind the back', did you mean somewhat behind the 3 and 9 O'clock positions? Or an actual small of back holster? As stated above, SOB holsters are generally regarded as a bad idea. |
Now that you've backed away from the SOB carry (good decision), if you still are interested in an IWB holster for your G23, I can enthusiastically endorse my MacDaniel II from Andrews Custom Leather. $70 (with the body shield) and it fits 3:30 - 4:00 very well. I'm comfortable with it all day long.![]() If you are interested in a OWB, my Don Hume Open Top Paddle Holster (H720 OT) from Gunners Alley is also very comfortable. ![]() It has a belt loop in between the holster and the paddle if you want to thread it through your belt. Either way, it rides high and tight. This picture is using just the paddle, not the belt loop.
