| I Keep a lasermax on my home defense glock, which I occasionally opt to use as my carry gun. Whenever I don it as my CCW I often wonder if I should return the original Guide rod to it, like I do at the range, in case I needed multiple rapid rounds. I guess I dont fully trust a delicate laser in a all-out SHTF situtation. My question: How does the structural integrity of a Laser Max compare to the factory Guide Rod? Also, how do the After market guide rods and recoil springs compare in both performance and durability? |

I have a Lasermax for my G17 and one for my G26. I have shot thousands of rounds also and I shoot only +P+ ammo. On two separate occasions I have had the guide rod move out of place and effectively disable my G17. Upon examination the battery cap had sustained noticeable ware. I sold my G26 and I no longer use a Lasermax in my G17. This is not an indictment of Lasermax or their product. Even with the excessive punishment I dished out to the one in my G17 it always functioned perfectly for the first 2000-3000rds and was made like new again with a new battery cap. THISISME |
