[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Glock 21SF (Page 1 of 2)

Need a picture of the other side. What is the "item" directly behind the takedown latch? Is that the new "rumored" safety for the .mil? I thought it was supposed to be some sort of god forsaken cross bolt safety setup. That looks more like a Cominolli type of safety, though ambi. |
| I think its the best looking Glock yet. Let me ask everyone's opinions. Will my Glock 21 mags work with this new gun? I Know it has an ambi safety but will just one side work with the old mags and both sides with the new mags? Also will I have to buy new holsters for it or will the old 21 holsters work? Where can I preorder? |
Your G21 mags are probably going to be too think for the new thinner frame. Anybody know the mag capacity on this new Glock? |
Where did this pic come from? I wanna check out their site. |

The G21SF is the real deal. They are due to hit the Glock Distributor's doors in February 2007. The pistol has a reduced grip frame front to rear and accepts a 13rnd G21 mag which has been modified. The mag catch now engages a lip on the front of the magazine much like an HK USP. The mag catch is ambi and there is a cross bolt safety. This is the .mil pistol G21SF Mag photo |

Glock polymer pistol frames are now being manufactured entirely in the USA (Georgia). The intent is to move a large portion of production over here from Europe. This is strong evidence that Glock is anticipating large, U.S. military orders, where one condition will be that weapons be made within the borders of CONUS. Glock's contender for this next, military pistol will look like a G21, only slimmer. The slide will be the same size, and it will still have a double-column magazine, but the grip will not be nearly as fat as is currently the case with the G21. Right now, it's called the "GSF45." In Glock numerology, the next number in line would be "G40," which would, of course, generate no end of confusion, so the designation, for now anyway, is GSF45. The SF45 will have an ambidextrous, two-position, manual safety. It is designed to mostly disengage itself as the shooter acquires a normal, shooting grip. But, it must be manually, consciously re-engaged. Resembles a cross-bolt. Magazine release is ambidextrous/switchable. The ostensible necessity for a manual safety is still being hotly debated, but the "pro"side currently has the upper hand. SOF magazine 1/97 |
No this is for real, for sure. I work in a gun store, and I checked with every distributor that we deal with, and they are all listing this firearm. P92150203 is Glock's product number for the fixed sighted 13 round version. They are also listed as fixed sights 10 round, night sight 13 round, & night sight 10 round versions. Dealer costs range from $481 for fixed to $532 for night sights. |

This solves my XD problem, I don't have to get one. It just does not seem like it will be much slimmer, if the old and new mags are the same size. There must have been a lot of wasted space in the backstrap. I guess after all the grip reductions everyone does combined with springfield they decided it could be done. |
The dealer costs seem a little high. If true you'll see these at the gun stores for $550+. With 45ACP white box pushing $300/1000 its an expensive little platform for a sidearm. |

"The dealer costs seem a little high. If true you'll see these at the gun stores for $550+. With 45ACP white box pushing $300/1000 its an expensive little platform for a sidearm." I have a hard time believing that Glock will be pricing these over the cost of the XD 45. His intention in part is to stop losses of sales on the 21 to the SA XD 45 and to do so he'll have to price the new slim grip 45 accordingly to recapture those lost sales. If the changes in grip, safety and mag release are being driven by a military contract then Glock isn't going to lose sleep over losing some sales on the 21 to the XD 45. The number of sales to the military will probably dwarf the civilian market. That being said, the gun should be the same or less than the XD 45 because of the large numbers being produced. If so I'll be happy to take one. |
their pricing is already set, if you look at the 9mm with plain sites, they are more then the XDs in .45, and the G34, G35 Tacti Cools are marked up. The 45SF has to be priced like the G34 and G35 to civies or Glock has to rework all their pricing. IMO. Now, what their COST is, and what they can sell to the GOVT for is another story. I imagine the cost is not over $150 to glock. |

That picture is obviously photoshopped, but the G21SF is real. The backstrap has been recontoured, HOWEVER, the frame and slide are the same width. The new Slimline .45 will be the G36 "Tactical"--a totally different pistol. The G21SF is very much not a Slimline. |

I also think the picture is a chopshop one. Those thick red lines can easily be used to hide chopping and considering the source, TG, the ones who lie to their customers and take two weeks for items to leave their shipping premises. I'm not saying there isn't a new gun coming out, there is too much evidence to the contrary, but I don't think that is a picture of it. I also don't think Glock could give two shits about XD sales. There are probably 10 to 1 Glock/XD sales, and you don't know if those people that bought XDs were actually going to buy a 1911 or another brand of gun. So they aren't proof of lost Glock sales. Not to mention, if they were going after XD sales with this new gun, they would also be affecting sales of their very own G21. Can't a gun company just introduce a new gun without all the conspiracy theories? Fact of the matter is, Glock designed a gun to compete for military trials. The trials were cancelled for the time being, so Glock has to make their R&D time and money back, so the gun is going for sale to the public. Here is further proof that even TG doesn't know if that is what the gun looks like. Right off their website. "IMPORTANT: We are not sure of dimensions, specifications or fits as of this time. We will update our information when we learn more. Availability is when Glock decides to build and ship it. It should be in early 2007, but we have no hard confirmations of that time." The last time I pre-ordered a Glock from them, it took a month to get it, past the date they claimed on their website they would be getting them. I think this is one of the reasons that TG is thought of so poorly. They are making promises, they may or may not be able to deliver on. Hell, have they even gotten their license to sell guns back yet? Or are they hoping to have that when the guns that may or not, be built yet, start shipping? |
Yeah, it's an altered photo. I ran it through my computer and magnified it and you can see the alterations. Bummer. So who knows about the real gun, if it is real or more Glock vaporware. |
How does the picture coming from TG have anything to do with proving it isn't a fake?????????????????????????????????????????????? |
Photo real or not...the G21SF is! I didn't pull these product #'s out of my ass...if you have access to distributors check them out. |
That dealer cost is the same as what the other 45ACP/10mm Glocks are already at. One of the shops by me, sells their Glocks for 10% over their cost. The 9/40/357s are $489. The 45s are $529. So that makes this new gun the same as the current ones price wise. |
|
Well, if it is real and is slimmer that the present G-21, I may be trading my Smith 1911 Sc in for the Glock. For all the reasons I like Glocks. It would have to be slimmer in the grip by quite a bit. It doesn't sound like it is a single stack if it uses the current 13 round mag. I don't know why they just don't make a single stack full size .45 ACP. I know I like the Big Dots on my G-17 and XS does not yet make them for my Smith 1911, according to XS. So it may be worth trading just for that reason alone as I love the Big Dot front sight with the non-tritium white stripe rear sight. |

www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=5&f=13&t=36949 Realize that half the people in that thread have confused the G21SF with the "G36 Tactical" before you click on it. Also realize that by definition, half the people in the world are more stupid than the average guy--and you know how dumb he is. |
